Chapter 23

Oriya Deronte

It was currently 6 in the morning. Vince and I had been up since 5, getting ready to go to one of Antonio's warehouses after what he did yesterday. We used the list Betro had given us, and just to make sure it really was a real warehouse Vince sent some of his men to check it out.

I noticed how Vincent was the actual don. Leo just had the name. Vincent was 22 and he was to be don at 25, so he just had to wait three more years to get the actual title. Leo and Vincent barely ever talked and when they did it would be about the mafia and that's it.

My life of being Donna was fucking amazing.

Nothing much had changed as for my responsibilities since I had been doing this way before I actually got the name, but the fact that my father was dead made it great. My mafia was still one of the best. I would be the best after the truce is over and I could go back to how it used to be. I would kill Vincent and then I would get the official title of being the best.

Vincent shoved me aside as he went into the kitchen and came out with a spoon and pan. Since the four had barely been doing any work, we decided we would take them to the warehouse with us. We stood at the end of the hallway and I nodded for him to do what he was going to.

He hit both the spoon and pan together for about 10 seconds until 4 heads popped out of the room doors.

"Jesus fuck, I thought that was sirens coming to arrest us all." Lucas said.

"Why would they? We've never done anything wrong." I said.

"We kill people for a living." Vincent deadpanned.

"And sell drugs." Kena yawned.

"And bombs." Theo added.

"And guns and knives." Sienna said.

"Okay, point taken," I said. "Get ready, we're going to a warehouse and you all are coming. You guys barely did anything."

"Hey, I've been doing Kena since like, the day I got here." Lucas defended. Kena's face turned red as Sienna and Theo bursted out laughing.

"Shut up. Get ready and be down in 30 minutes." Vincent said.

"We're going to bomb some shit so Theo and Sienna, you guys need to be there to activate it. Bring whatever you need." I added.

None of them moved as they stood there, waiting for us to tell them we're joking or something. After 5 seconds of silence, Lucas's shoulders slumped in defeat and Sienna let out a sigh. They still stood there, so Vincent dropped the pan and spoon, took out his gun and shot at a light.

"Go you fucks, get ready!" He shouted. They all jumped and ran into their rooms probably to get dressed. I was going to just slam the spoon and pan together but this works too I guess.

He turned around to go down the stairs, under his breath I heard him mumble 'I hate humans'. His eyes seemed to have spotted the elevator and instead of the stairs he went towards the elevator. I was going to take the elevator as well but after remembering certain events yesterday I decided it would be better for me to just take the stairs.

He didn't seem to mind as he leaned on the wall in the elevator with his phone out. His hair fell perfectly over his forehead, just above his eyes. He was wearing all black but today, he had on another short sleeve giving me a perfect view of his tattoos. I could see his abs through the damn shirt.

He must've noticed me staring as he looked up at me, through the hair falling on his face. We made eye contact and I swear, I've never ran down the stairs faster. I knew Vincent wouldn't talk about it, but just to avoid any awkwardness, I stayed in the backyard while he was god knows where.
