Alyson woke up the next day surrounded by warmth. The sun was high in the sky. Fresh snow covered the ground covering up the footsteps that marked the paths of the hustle and bustle. Alyson blinked the sleep from her eyes and wondered why there was so much snow and why she could see the sun.

Suddenly, all the memories from yesterday hit her. She was home with her dad and her stepmom. Noah and Kai lay taking up most of the room in her bed. Neither showed signs of waking up soon.

Alyson huffed as she rolled out of bed, showered, and put on clothes that would keep her warm. Her body still felt heavy with exhaustion. She most defiantly felt better than she did yesterday.

Alyson walked downstairs and saw Melissa and her dad sitting at the table drinking coffee. She looked over at the clock on the wall and saw it said 1 pm. Confusion filled her. Had they just woken up? Or was it just that the people here slept until later in the day? Alyson decided it was the latter since this seemed to be a pack and not just a family like the Maikoh's house was. She supposed that most weres got up around this time since, after all, they were nocturnal.

"Morning, Sweetheart, how'd you sleep?" Her dad asks.

"Better than expected, Kai and Noah are like heaters. So, it was comfy," Alyson said as she hovered by the cabinets looking for a coffee cup.

"Coffee cups are on the top shelf," Melissa said.

"Thanks," Alyson said as she grabbed a cup off the top shelf, it was a plain black mug. She poured black coffee into it and sat back down.

"That's my girl," Mathew said with a smile, gesturing to his coffee.

"You drink yours black too?" Alyson asked as she laughed softly.

"Of course, it's the best way to wake up. It tastes like shit, but it wakes me right up," Mathew says. At Mathew mentioning it, Alyson remembers the time Noah tried coffee for the first time.

"You know when Noah and I met at the hotel? He tried coffee for the first time and spit it out instantly. It looked like he had just sucked a lemon," Alyson said as she chuckled.

"Really? You got him to try coffee?" Melissa asks.

"I didn't do anything! He's the one who poured it for himself and offered me some," Alyson said. She laughed lightly.

"You ready to meet some of the pack today, or do you want to wait a couple of days?" Mathew asked.

"I'm ready whenever you are, I suppose," Alyson said with a smile.

"Good, I'm sure they'll love you," Melissa said, her smile warm.

"I hope so. I know. I'm not a full were, but I intend to be a good pack member," Alyson says with a bright smile. Melissa looks slightly shocked, but Mathew only gives a small smile.

"And that's all that matters," Mathew says.

"So, who am I going to meet today?" Alyson asks excitedly.

"I think it'll be best to start small. I'll introduce you to my beta and his little group. And the council members. I dunno. I'm sure everyone is super excited to meet you," Mathew says with a wide smile.

"That sounds good! I can't believe you're an Alpha," Alyson said as she laughed.

"Yeah, and now that you're here, that makes you next in line to be Alpha," Mathew says. At that, Alyson feels pale.

"I dunno about that. I left that position when I came here. I dunno if I'm ready to commit to being an alpha in line again," Alyson said as she looked away.
