The Trinity School (6 PM) (Bella's
Perspective)
"Bella!" I ran up to my Mom and hugged her.
"Your speech was amazing and so, so inspiring! Where did you learn that from."
"Hmmm, let's see...there is this lady called Olivia Margaret Benson." She hugged me again.
"I'm so proud of you! Come, come Kathleen wants to tell you something."
"Okay!" I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Bella!" I turned around to see Hannah's twin sisters.
"Hey, Ayda and Amira! You guys look so pretty in your dresses!"
"Thank you!" They chanted.
"We wanted to give you something! It's from us!" Amira said. She handed me a card with some hand-drawn pictures and a printed one as well."
"Aww, I love it! Thanks, guys!" I gave them both a hug.
"We gotta go back to Mom and Dad! But can you ask Leia if she wants to come over and play?"
"Of course." As they scurried away to meet the Jansen's, I looked over the card again. They are so sweet.
"Okay, where's everyone?" This auditorium was packed. Damn it.
"Excuse me, 'cuse me. Pardon me. Can I brush past you, please?" We're the only things that came out of my mouth for the past 2 mins. I saw the glimmer of Kathleen's dress.
"Kath-" My body slammed into someone else's.
"I am so sorry." I looked up and-
"Bella, you look so pretty. Your speech was amazing." This bitch. I bet she was waiting for the moment I separated from my parents to pull this shit.
"Leave me alone." I warned.
"Back away or I'll tell my Mom."
"Your Mom is nowhere to be found, and last time I checked, I was the one that gave birth to you."
"You giving birth to me doesn't mean a thing. You're a shitty person who put her daughter through hell. I'm still trying to understand why Adrian's father married you. Like how was he able to get past the drug abuse, the lying?? He's probably just as horrible as you."
"I don't know what goes on in Olivia's house, but that is no way to speak to an adult. You're being very disrespectful."
"I'm not entitled to respect adults who put me in harm's way and let their friends rape me. Mama!" I yelled. My god, where is she?! I was beginning to freak out. Maria grabbed my hand and began pulling me down the aisle.
"Let go of me!" My screams were drowned out by the noise of hundreds of people in the auditorium. I pulled and pulled but she wouldn't let go.
"Mom, Dad. Remember Bella?"
"Oh my goodness, Bella you've gotten so big." The woman came up and hugged me. I felt like I was being suffocated. I don't even know who this is.
"I remember we used to make cookies together and read books." What the fuck is she talking about?
"Aww come on, you could give your Grandma a better hug than that!" The man said. Grandma?! These are the people that forced Maria to give birth to me. I hate them. The woman finally let go of me and the moment the man tried to hug me I felt an ever so familiar hand on my shoulder.
"Do not touch my daughter."
"Excuse me, who are you? Last time I checked, Bella is our granddaughter and she is with her Mother."
"I am Bella's father."
"Ahh yes, so you are the man that's isolated our granddaughter from her Mother." The man said. Elliot chuckled sarcastically.
"You've got it wrong. Maria's done a good job of that herself. Do you care to explain the real reason why Bella is not in your care?"
"What is he talking about?"
"I'll have you know that her parental rights were terminated due to abuse. So yes, they've been kept a great distance away from each other with good reason." The couple looked visibly heated with Maria and I was just there, they were arguing over me yet I had no actual say in this entire thing.
"Come near Bella again and I'll-" I touched Elliot's shoulder.
"Dad, please stop. They didn't do anything wrong. They didn't know. Please can we just go meet up with everyone else? I don't wanna do this right now." His body language loosened and he put his arm down.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"We can handle this another time." I told him.
"I'm sorry that it got like this." I told my "grandparents."As we walked towards everyone else I felt weird. I can't explain it. Dad explained what happened to everyone else.
"Are you okay, Bella? Did she hurt you?"
"She only grabbed me, it's fine." I said.
"No, it's not fine. We are going to file a restraining order, she can't be-"
"Oh my god, can we please stop this??" I asked with tears forming in the corner of my eyes.
"I'm supposed to be happy right now. We can do this later. Can we just be normal? Ask me what I wanna eat for dinner, since it's my day, ask me how I feel about becoming a high schooler. Why does everything have to end up being about Maria?!" I stormed off, to the bathroom and began to cry.
"I hate my life." I whispered.

Ido (235 Lexington Ave.) (Olivia's Perspective)
What was supposed to be such a joyous day just kept taking several horrible turns. If I could, I'd turn back the time to earlier in the day, and make it right. But I can't. And while we were all here giggling and having a good time, the thought of what I had to do later was wrecking me.
"Elliot!" Bella exclaimed in a state of embarrassment. We all burst into laughter.
"And Bella would come knocking at our door early in the morning, because of this mystical being."
"It was real! I was hearing things." She said in her defense.
"That's silly Bella, there's no such thing as monsters under your bed." Leia said.
"Says you. You came running into my room because of them the other night."
"That was different!" Bella tickled Lei.
"I think in conclusion we could say that Bella had a very active imagination." Kathleen stated.
"Whatever."
"And now she's too busy daydreaming about Jake to have an imagination." I stated.
"Not you joining in." I kissed her.
"So Bella, are you excited to go to a new school next year?"
"Very. My besties are coming with, and it wouldn't hurt to make new friends!"
"Are you nervous at all?"
"A little, because it's like Trinity in the sense that these kids have known each other since they were little, but then again if I fit in here then I should be fine there."
"That's a good way to look at it." Amanda said. I had some more sushi and Bella watched as I did so.
"What? Is there seaweed in my teeth?"
"No, Mom."
"What is it, then?"
"Nothing. Just nothing." She joked.
"So Bella, I know that you've been saying that you've missed having me around as often as before so I was wondering if you want to spend a weekend with me one of these days."
"I would love to, Kathleen! You're like the best big sister ever."

Elliot: When we get home we need to talk about getting that restraining order.

Me: El, I'm not getting a restraining order on Bella's grandparents too, they've done nothing wrong.

Elliot: I know, but with them knowing what they know, who knows what their intentions are.

Me: Shouldn't we talk to Bella about this?? This is her life we're dealing with.

Elliot: What is there to talk about? We need to keep her safe.

I glared at him swiftly.

"Aunty Eve, are you gonna come home with us?"
"I'd love to Noah, but I've got some business to handle."
"One of these days I need you to tell me what it's like working for the British Intelligence." He insisted.
"Why? So you can go write a book about it? You're going to get me in trouble."
"You can tell me!" Billie said.
"I'll tell you later." Eve whispered. Everyone was getting along so well, I couldn't have asked for better people in my life.

Home (Bella's Bedroom) (Noah's Perspective)
I opened Bella's door to see her sitting on her bed with a tissue in hand.
"Are you okay?" I asked her. She shook her head.
"What happened when you split up with Mom? Why did you split up with her?"
"Why are you asking me that like it's my fault Maria's a psycho?"
"That's not how I meant it, I should've worded it better. I mean, what caused you guys to split up?"
"I saw Ayda and Amira. They gave me a card, and I talked to them for a minute. Next thing you know, I bumped into Maria and she's grabbing me by the arm."
"And then what?"
"I called her a shitty mother and then she dragged me to her parents and they started hugging me and getting all lovey-dovey, telling me about how we used to bake cookies together and a whole bunch of other crap."
"Your grandparents?"
"Maria's parents."  I nodded.
"I'm just getting tired of seeing her, and now that I've seen her parents I don't think this is ever going to stop. Every time I see her I just start to feel guilty, angry, and upset to my stomach."
"And you have every right to feel upset."
"I know but it's also my fault." She told me
"What do you mean? You didn't do anything wrong." I told my sister while hugging her. She let go and pick up another tissue.
"Or did you...."
"Please don't tell Mom." I sat up. What could Bella possibly have done?
"Okay, I won't. What happened?"
"Remember a while back when I had my little off-the-grid moment?"
"Yeah."
"I was with Maria and we were talking. I asked her about her drug use, and some other stuff."
"What? Did she make you meet up with her?"
"No, Noah. I reached out to her. I was curious. I just wanted to know some information, but I wound up learning that my Mother was raped by my Father and that's why she treated me the way I did. She could barely stand the sight of me. Isn't that lovely? She said she only had me because her parents made her."
"That was so messed up of her to do. What the hell..."
"And now I think she's trying to get closer to us because she thinks I have sympathy for her. Which...I sort of do. But at the same time I hate her. I don't know what to do."
"Why didn't you talk about it at therapy?"
"Because then Mom would know, she isn't even supposed to be near me."
"How can I help you?" I asked my younger sister.
"I can't give you advice or anything...but whatever will make you feel better, I'll do it."
"You can't? Wasn't your Dad a sex trafficker? Do you not have feelings about that?" I sighed.
"Plenty. But I'm like you and I don't talk about them. Because nobody goes around telling people that their Dad pimped girls out and raped them. And it's weird telling people that I feel like I'm going to be just as evil as my Dad one day. That it's destined for me." She looked over.
"That isn't true. You could have horrible parents and be the kindest person. You're a great brother, friend, and boyfriend. Nurture over nature, Noah."
"I know, but we still think that, don't we?" She nodded.
"I know what could make us both feel better." Bella jumped up and put in her shoes.
"What??"
"Let's go bike riding in Central Park and get Shake Shack. I'll race you over to the big rock!"
