After about an hour, Yelena fell asleep in her bed after she spent a good while crying to herself. Y/N made their way back to the pullout couch and fell back asleep as well after staring at the side of the couch for nearly an hour wondering what went wrong.

Their mind raced with a multitude of thoughts.

Did I go too far? Was she uncomfortable? Does she regret doing that?

But one thought stuck out the most.

Is she okay?

Y/N thought about going upstairs and sitting with her. Not even to nudge her to talk or explain, but just to make sure she was okay. They went back and forth in their head with this thought. Go or don't. Over and over.

Eventually, they drifted off to sleep instead.

Around nine, Nat finally stirred awake and noticed that Yelena wasn't in the bed with her and Y/N anymore. Curiosity killed the Nat, so she kicked Y/N in the back to wake them up.

"Jesus Christ dude, what the hell?" Y/N groaned as they woke up.

She slid over next to them to get closer, "Where's Yelena?"

"Why would I know the answer to that?" They responded without moving.

Nat could hear the annoyance in their voice and chalked it up to them being tired, "I was just asking, dick."

As she rolled over and off the bed to go find her sister, Y/N huffed after feeling bad for their tone and turned to catch her first, "I'm sorry-" They stopped short, realizing that they were about to say why they were really annoyed. It didn't feel right to talk about unless they had Yelena's permission, "I'm just tired. Your sister kicks in her sleep."

She laughed, "I know! She won't admit it, but I've got bruises to prove it too."

They both smiled before Nat headed upstairs to find Yelena while Y/N flopped back on the bed covering their face with their arms.

As Nat made it up the steps and to Yelena's door, she knocked on the door gently before stepping in. When she opened it and stepped through, she saw her sister laid on her bed facing the wall, "You awake?" She asked.

Yelena only nodded in response which pushed Nat to close to door and step in closer, "What's going on Lena? Why'd you come up here instead?"

No response. Nat stepped over to the bed and sat behind her, laying her hand on her arm.

"Just worried about the mission. That's all," She finally answered.

Nat's eyebrows furrowed in confusion knowing that she did not at all expect to hear that. Seeing how Yelena and Y/N were both acting, she assumed it was something between them and truthfully, she's still pretty sure that it is.

"What're you worried about? We have everything set. It's going to work perfectly. I even got the helicopter all set up for us to go this afternoon," Nat responded.

A long drawn-out breath fell from her mouth now. She didn't enjoy lying, but she also had no desire in the world to tell Nat what she'd done last night.

"I know, I just want to make sure we get it all done."

"We will, Lena. I promise. Are you sure there's nothing else that you're worried or upset over?" Nat asked as she leaned in closer.

Yelena thought about answering truthfully. She thought about telling Nat about how she'd crashed into Y/N's lips just hours ago, about how she felt on top of the world beneath their touch, about how all she wanted right now was their arms around her.
