Ik I've probably done this more than once but stfu. It's a comforting scenario.

You were such a god damn coward. Not to the rest of the Fellowship. They all thought you were brave. Haha. Yeah right. Brave definitely wasn't being absolutely terrified of the thunder echoing around you.

The worst part of it was that you didn't even have a valid excuse as to why you were so scared of it. There was no traumatic events that had happened in your lifetime that could explain the fear. But there you were, under a shelf of rock, hiding from the storm and flashes of light, while trying to keep your whimpers to a minimum to not disturb the others.

Your hands were pressed tightly against your ears and you found yourself trying to count your breaths to distract yourself. One. Two. Three. Four. Again. One. Two. Three. Four.

It's okay. Just go to sleep. It's not that bad. It's just sound. It can't hurt you.

Bang!!!

You let out a small squeak. Someone shifted next to you. Your name was heard.

"Yeah?" You answered quickly, covering up the scared tone in your voice.

"Is everything alright?" It was Aragorn.

"Mhm. Just go back to sleep."

Defying your request he sat up. "Are you hurt?" he immediately asked. Such a worrier about if you were injured or not. He asked that at least once a day.

"No, I'm okay. Really."

"You-"

Bang!!!

You jumped and swore. Not so unfortunately Aragon caught on.

"Are you afraid of the thunder?"

"Please don't tease me about it. I know it's cowardly."

"No, not at all." He moved closer to you and touched your arm gently. "I would never tease you about something like this. We all have at least one fear. It doesn't matter how small it is, it's still scary."

"Yes, well, I think scary is an understatement. More like horrifying."

He gave a small laugh at your dramatic wording, but he wasn't picking on you.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

Your cheeks went red. There was one thing that might. But it was highly embarrassing to ask for. It wasn't that you thought he'd deny it, just that it could very possibly make him see you differently. Less self dependent and distant.

"You could perhaps... hold me?" The last words were said very quietly.

"What could I do?"

Great. You were gonna have to repeat yourself. You cleared your throat.

"It might help if you were to hold me."

He gave a small smile and immediately opened his arms. No judgement. Just comfort. You liked that.

You greatfully snuggled into him and closed your eyes. He closed his arms around you. He could feel your heart rate go down. Good.

It was easier to block the thunder out with his embrace. And he was really warm. It wasn't long before your main focus became how tired you were and how comfortable he was. Despite his more muscular body type, he was sooooo soft.

"Are you going to fall asleep on me?"

You quickly adjusted your position. "Sorry is that an issue? I can stay awake if you'd like."

"No, no. It's perfectly fine." He gently pushed you back down into a more suitable position for rest. "Sleep. After all of that walking, you deserve it."

His words were already beginning to fade. "Mm, you're so comfy." You let it slip out without really listening to what you were saying.

He lightly brushed some of your hair with his fingers and chuckled, leaning down next to your ear. "Have a good sleep."
