Jacob's phone was once again perched against his toolbox so Lizzie could see him and Bella. Sam decided to spend the Saturday with his girlfriend. The bikes were supposed to be finished today and they were going to take them out for a test. Lizzie said she wanted to watch, so she dragged herself out of the boarding house and back to the Mikaelsons place.

"So, Quil keeps asking to come over. I think he likes you a little too much," Jacob told Bella.

"Oh," Bella said. "Well, I'm really not into the whole cougar thing, you know?"

"What's up with you and age? I mean, how old was that Cullen guy anyway?"

"That Cullen guy has a name and he's also the same age as me," Lizzie reminded them.

"Sorry, babe," Jacob apologized with a sheepish smile.

"Anyway, Bells, Jake's right. Age is just a number."

"A number that keeps going up," Bella retorted.

Lizzie knew how Bella felt about aging and looking older than Edward. It was inevitable if she didn't turn. But Lizzie didn't necessarily want that for her cousin, she already had her biological brother messed up in the immortal life. She wanted Bella to live her life to the fullest, to be happy, and to have a good life. Though she also knew, despite everything and no matter what, Bella and Edward were made and meant for each other. La Tua Cantante.

Jake gave Lizzie one of their usual shared looks, especially when it came to Bella. She silently laughed, one hand covering her mouth as he grinned. He held the phone up as they drove in Bella's truck to the place where they wanted to test the bikes out.

"Is that Sam Uley?" Lizzie heard Bella ask as they went over the bridge.

Jacob looked away from his girlfriend and to the small mountain opposite them, where sure enough, Sam was with his newfound pack cliff diving.

"Yeah, him and his cult," Jake scoffed.

Lizzie felt bad that everyone including the people on the Rez all thought that Sam was running some kind of a gang. He just wanted to keep their heritage a secret, protect the town and the wolves. They needed space to learn control and with that space came rumors of some pretty questionable things. She didn't think it was fair to him or anyone else.

"Oh my God," Bella exclaimed as she pulled the truck over with a screech. Lizzie winced at the sound. "Did you see that?"

Jacob started laughing and the picture on Lizzie's end went blurry as he climbed out of the truck and followed after Bella to the other side of the road.

"They're not really fighting, Bella, they're cliff diving. Scary as hell, but a total rush."

"A rush?"

"Most of us jump from lower down. We leave the showing off to Sam and his disciples."

"You have some kind of beef with him or something?" Bella asked, walking back over to the truck.
