As soon as she got Evangeline's note, Narcissa knew what she had to do. She had to talk with Draco. She loved the boy, but deep down she knew that she wasn't his mother. And now he needed to know it, too.

She knocked on Draco's bedroom door and she received a 'Come in!' for an answer. She walked into the room. It had only been clean the day before and it was already messy.

'He indeed is Regulus' son,' thought Narcissa, with a smile on her face.

She recalled the day Draco was born as if it were yesterday...

It was the beginning of summer and Narcissa was gardening her flowers in the backyard of the Malfoy manor when Kreacher apparated into the backyard

'Mistress Malfoy! Mistress Malfoy!' Kreacher screamed.

'What is it, Kreacher? Is Eva okay?' the woman asked worriedly.

'Mistress Eva is giving birth and my mistress is not home for the week!' Kreacher announced, alarmed.

'Oh, my Merlin!' Narcissa dropped everything and she and Kreacher apparated to 12 Grimmauld Place.

When in the hallway, they could hear Evangeline's screams from upstairs, in hers and Regulus' room. Narcissa rushed up the stairs and entered the room in a hurry.

'Narcissa, thank Merlin you are here!' Eva screamed.

Narcissa rushed to Eva's side and held Eva's hand.

'IT HURTS!' the younger girl screamed.

'It's alright, I'm here,' Narcissa tried to calm Evangeline down. 'I'm going to tell Kreacher to get us what's necessary and then I'll send a Patronus for the midwife,' Narcissa told Eva.

'There's no time to call the midwife because this baby is coming right now!' Eva growled in pain.

Narcissa called for Kreacher to bring her towels and warm water.

'Cissy, I can't do this without him,' Evangeline said, crying.

Narcissa rushed to Eva's side and caressed the younger girl's forehead. 'You have to because then, you'll have a piece of him with you forever,' Narcissa encouraged Evangeline.

After a few long hours of pushing and screams and pain, Eva and Regulus' baby was finally brought into the world. Eva was holding her son, taking in his features. He had her blonde hair but Regulus' nose, lips and ears. She kissed the boy's forehead and whispered 'I love you.'

'What's his name going to be?' Narcissa asked.

'His name is Draco, Draco Sirius Black,' Evangeline answered with a smile on her face.

'Sirius?' Narcissa asked, not believing her ears.

'Yes, Sirius,' Eva repeated. 'It was one of Regulus' final requests, that his middle name shall be Sirius. In honour of the bravest man ever known, the man who was able to escape and lead a happy life.'

'It's a beautiful name for a beautiful boy,' Narcissa whispered, smiling down at the little boy in her cousin's arms who had finally opened his eyes. 'Look, Eva, he has your eyes!'

'Don't tell Walburga about his middle name until she sees it on the tapestry. It gives me enough time to figure something out,' Eva asked Narcissa and the older girl nodded. 'Also, would you like to be his godmother?' Evangeline asked her cousin.

'I would love to be his godmother.'

She looked at her godson, who was sitting on the window seat with a book in his hands. He walked up to him and smiled.

'Little Women, interesting choice,' Narcissa spoke kindly.

'Don't tell father,' Draco whispered.

'I would never,' Narcissa assured the boy. 'Draco, there is something that I wanted to talk to you about.'

Draco closed his book and turned his attention towards Narcissa.

'I don't know how to tell you this and honestly, I had fourteen years to come up with something good, but it never really seems right,' Narcissa started. 'Well, have you ever noticed how you're so different from Lucius and me?' Narcissa asked.

'Of course, I notice new small differences every day,' Draco answered. 'But, mother, why did you call father Lucius?' the boy asked.

'Honey, remember that I love you and I'll always love you, alright?' Narcissa told the boy with tears in her eyes. 'See, I don't think you shouldn't call me mother anymore nor call Lucius your father, because we're not your biological parents.'

There, the cat was out of the bag.

'W-What?'

Narcissa reached inside her pocket and took out a letter that Evangeline gave to her when she gave Draco to her.

'Here,' she said, giving Draco the letter. 'This is from your mother. Read it and if you want to take upon her offer or still have questions, tell me, alright?'

Draco nodded and Narcissa left the room. The boy looked at the envelope in his hands. On the front, it wrote 'To my little star'. He opened it slowly, tears in his eyes. He unfolded the paper and began to read it.

'My little star,

Hi, this is your mother.

If you're reading this it means that Cissy has told you the truth.

I bet that you have a lot of questions, and I think the first one is who I am. Hello, my name is Evangeline Moira Black, "Eva" for short and my last name used to be "Rose" before I married your father. I met your father when I was a teenage girl who had just moved overseas to a different country. We bonded over a book, more specifically Little Women. God, I love that book. Louisa May Alcott is a genius!

Sorry, I'm going to get back to the subject on point.

Despite being a muggle, your father and I became fast friends. We used to meet in the park near our houses every day during the summer we first met. We'd talk for hours and hours about the most random topics. He was my first friend here, in England, and I'm so lucky to have known him even if it was for only such a short period of time.

I was nineteen when you were born, nineteen and a widow already. I lost your father seven months before you were born. Those were the longest, saddest and most painful months of my life. Of course, I had your grandmother, Walburga, and your godmother, Narcissa, but your father...

Now, no matter what people might tell you about your father, don't listen to them. He was a good man who once made a difficult choice in order to survive. He was a good man who believed in equality not just among the wizarding classes but also among witches and wizards and creatures. He was brave, kind, and strong. He was the love of my life, my soulmate.

I'm so sorry for leaving you with Narcissa and Lucius but I didn't have any other choice. Your uncle was out of the question since he and your father had a fall-out way before I met your father. Leaving you with Walburga would have been worse than leaving you with Lucius Malfoy, trust me on that. That woman is ratchet and evil. And taking you with me back to New York meant that you would never be living up to your fullest potential and you'd never be safe.

Also, your full name isn't Draco Lucius Malfoy, but Draco Sirius Black. "Sirius" after your uncle, one of your father's last wishes.

I love you with all of my heart and I wish I would never have to leave you behind, but I have to in order to keep you safe.

With love,

Your mother.
