Y/N's P.O.V.

Every kid thinks they're different and every parent claims that their child is special, but I didn't just think I was different, I knew it. My parents knew it too. I could do things from a very young age, things that just didn't make sense.
I could move things with my mind and convince people to do things that they didn't really want to do.
My dad was a big Star Wars fan, he always had been, he used to call me his Padawan and refer to my power as the 'Force'.
I really was different to other kids and some people saw that as a threat.
When I was 16, those people came to my house. They said that they were with a government agency called SHIELD. They told me they were 'the good guys'.
That was before they killed my parents and manipulated me into thinking it was my fault.
It took me too long to realise who I was really working for.

"Y/N?" A soft voice and I looked up at Natasha in confusion.
"You okay?"

"Yeah, sorry." I mumbled and she sat down next to me.
I didn't know Natasha Romanoff very well, I had met the woman less than 24 hours before and I wasn't entirely sure that I could trust her.
She, and the rest of the Avengers, had saved me from my cell in the HYDRA base. The Winter Soldier recognised me and told the team what I was capable of, making them take me in.

"Don't apologise." She gave me a kind smile.
"You looked pretty deep in thought. You want to talk about it?" She asked calmly and I shook my head, no.
"That's okay. You've been through a lot the past 24 hours." She seemed to think something over, before standing up.
"Come on." She held her hand out to me and I hesitated, before taking her hand, letting her help me up.

"I thought I had to stay here?" I asked quietly as she lead me over to the elevator.
"Mr. Stark said-"

"I know what he said, don't worry. You're not going to get in any trouble. If Tony has a problem, I'll deal with it." I nodded my head slowly, before asking where we were going.
"I can't understand what you're going through, but there's someone that can. I'm taking you to see her." I nodded my head, curious, but I didn't want to ask anymore questions and risk making her mad at me.
The elevator stopped and the doors opened, but before we could step out, a silver haired man seemed to appear out of nowhere, I stepped back out of both fear and confusion.

"Who's this?" He asked, looking at me, but Natasha stood in front of me slightly. He had an accent, but I couldn't quite place it.

"You can meet her later. We're here to talk to Wanda. There's ice cream upstairs." Natasha spoke calmly and with a blur of blue, the boy was gone again.
"That is Pietro. He and his sister are still training to become Avengers."

"How- how did he do that?" I whispered and the woman gave me a sad smile.

"HYDRA used him and his sister as test subjects. They have abilities. He's really fast and she has powers like yours." I nodded once again and she frowned slightly, before making a hand gesture telling me to follow her. She walked over to a door and knocked. A girl with light brown hair and curious green eyes opened the door
"Wanda, I've brought you a friend. This is Y/N. I want you to help her feel more comfortable here. She has powers, like you." Before either of us could say anything, Natasha stepped back.
"I'll leave you girls to it."

"Hi?" Wanda looked at me curiously, clearly confused. I gave her a shy smile and she opened the door wider, inviting me in.
"You- they brought you back from the mission, didn't they?" She asked in a thick accent, just like the silver haired boy.

"Yes, ma'am." I muttered and she looked slightly confused.

"What did Natasha mean when she said you have powers like me? What can you do?" She asked and my eyes darted around the room, before landing on the desk.
I raised my hand, a blue glow covering my fingers as I concentrated on a pen on the desk. The same blue glow that was on my fingers appeared on the pen as it lifted into the air, bringing it towards me. I let it land in my hand, the blue glow disappearing, before looking at Wanda, who had an amazed look in her eyes. She raised her hand and this time the pen was encased in a red glow. It lifted from my hand and landed in hers.

"I can also... control people. Get them to do what I want." I admitted.

"I can read minds. I can control people too, but that's harder, it takes a lot more concentration." She said, almost excitedly.
"How did you get your powers?"

"I was born with them, I think. That's what my parents told me before they..." I looked down at that.

"I'm sorry." Wanda muttered.
"My parents are gone too, my brother and I... we were there when it happened."

"HYDRA made me believe I killed mine." My voice came out as a whimper and Wanda reached up slightly, before stopping herself. There was red magic dancing on her fingertips and she looked at me as if asking for permission. She wanted to read my mind.
I nodded my head and she touched my temple, her eyes closing. I sucked in a breath as memories, good and bad, came back to me in flashes. After a few minutes, Wanda let go quite suddenly, looking at me with tears in her eyes.

"Oh, God." She whispered, covering her mouth with a shaky hand.
"11 years? You were with them for 11 years?" She asked in horror and I looked down, my cheeks becoming damp with tears of my own. I felt myself beginning to shake and before I knew it, I was on the ground, Wanda knelt next to me with her arms wrapped tightly around me.
"They're not going to hurt you anymore, Y/N. I promise. You're safe now."
