Chapter 5

It was about me? How could that have even been possible? Here I was thinking that Jaden was happier than ever with Nessa, and then I found out that it was all just fake.

What pisses me off even more was what he did to Josh. Jaden totally betrayed him just for the clout. Josh really loved Nessa and Jaden didn't even care, he saw an opportunity and took it. Not once did he even start to think about anyone's feelings.

"Jaden, you know I love you, but you fucked up this time," I stood up from the table and walked outside. I could feel my eyes start to water, so I just acted on instinct and FaceTimed Josh. It probably wasn't the best idea, but I knew that he would understand the situation better than anyone else.

Josh answered immediately and didn't look too happy either. "Are you crying?" He asked me.

"Yeah, a little bit," I wiped away a tear.

"Is this because of the whole Nessa thing or something else?"

"It started with the Nessa thing, but then it just got bigger than I would've thought."

"So was Nessa talking about Jaden?"

"Yeah," I sniffled.

"Then why are you upset about it?"

"I don't know, Josh. Can you just come over to my house please? I would much rather tell you in person."

"Yeah, I'm on my way. Are you there?"

"No, but I'm on my way to my car right now."

"Where are you?"

"I was at lunch with Jaden, but I left before the food showed up because of what happened."

"Alright, we can talk about it when you get home."

"Thanks Josh," I said as I hung up and started walking down the sidewalk to my car. We parked a little ways away since everywhere else was taken.

I kept walking until I noticed paparazzi. If this day wasn't bad enough already, they were just going to make it worse.

"Hey Evelyn, are you okay?" A man with a camera asked. He obviously could tell that I was crying.

"Do I look okay?" I asked sarcastically.

"Are you upset because of Nessa's live? I know that you are best friends with both her and Jaden."

"I don't really want to address that situation until I talk about it with Josh, Jaden, and Nessa."

"Is Josh involved in this situation? Why do you need to talk to Josh about this?"

"Josh is my best friend and he has been through his own fair share of Nessa and Jaden drama, he knows the situation better than anyone."

"So do you know who the girl Nessa referred to in the live is?"

"Yeah, I do. I don't really want to bring things to light until I talk to them about it though."

"Has Nessa told you anything about the situation?"

"I already told you I don't want to talk about it!" I was infuriated. "If you could just respect my privacy, that would be great. I am 19 and I don't need a 40 year old man interrogating my personal life!" I slammed the car door shut in his face and started driving home. All I wanted to do was talk all of this over with Josh and I didn't want to deal with paparazzi.

I got home and noticed that Josh's car was already parked in the driveway which made me feel much better. I walked inside and Josh was sitting on the couch scrolling through Instagram. "There's some Chick-Fil-A on the counter if you're hungry," He said as I grabbed the bag of food off the counter.

I went and sat down on the couch next to Josh and tried to get as comfortable as possible.

"So what happened with Jaden?" Josh asked and I immediately felt myself start to tear up again.

"He only used her for clout on the song," I started with that because I knew that was going to make him the most mad and I wanted to get it over with. "He ruined your friendship just because he wanted a song to be more popular."

"So he never actually liked Nessa?" Josh was definitely pissed off and it was obvious.

"Don't worry, it gets better. Did you see the part on the live where she said that Jaden liked someone else?"

"Yeah, I didn't think too much of it though. Do I know her?"

"Yeah, you could say that."

"Does he still like Mads?"

"No, it might be a little worse than that."

"Who is it?"

"It's me, and I guess it has been for a while."

"He told you that?"

"Yeah."

"And what did you say?"

"I just left, I didn't want to deal with it. I also wanted to think about it first before I said something stupid."

"So you just left Jaden there alone?"

"Yeah, but he can just get an Uber or something."

"Have you talked to Mads?"

"Not yet, but she was the one who told me about the video, so I should probably explain everything to her."

"You should do that before the internet makes up something and she hears that first."

"You're right, I'm going to go over there. I'll be home in like half an hour, you can just hang out or whatever. Or you can also just go home."

"I'll just chill here until you get back. Good luck, don't say anything stupid."

"I won't try to," I laughed through my tears.

I arrived at Mads' house and explained everything to her. She was shocked and didn't believe it for a second. It also made her ego go up a little since she was convinced that it was for clout the entire time.

I went back home and sure enough, Josh was still just sitting on the couch. "I'm back and Mads is pissed off now."

"Well, I didn't think that she was going to be happy about it."

"I know that I've kind of been the center of everything for the past hour, but are you okay Josh?"

"It doesn't really affect me in any way. It's not like I was really friends with either of them, so none of my relationships with them changed at all. Yeah, it sucks that Jaden only was with her for clout, but it doesn't change anything for me."

"But it still sucks, if you change your mind and decide that you're not okay, can you call me please?"

"Of course," He came over and gave me a big hug and then left. "Hey, actually I forgot my hoodie upstairs, I'll leave after I grab it."

"Okay," I laughed as he ran up the stairs.

I sat down on the couch when I heard a knock on the door. I stood up and was definitely expecting to see Mads, but I couldn't be more wrong. It was Jaden and he definitely wasn't happy about anything.
