July 1st - Potter Estate

As they had promised right before they'd moved out, James, Sirius, Nephera, and Lily, visited the Potter parents every Sunday for lunch. Nephera and Sirius especially were eager to dig into Euphemia's famous cooking, since they had essentially been living off of takeout for the past month of living together.

Needless to say, the pasta Mia had prepared tasted like heaven, "Merlin, Pads, keep it in check we're eating," grumbled James after Sirius had let out a rather loud groan upon tasting the food

"I was just trying to show my appreciation to the cook," responded Sirius, sending an overdramatic wink to Euphemia

The older witch sent a pointed glare at him, but in the end, could not suppress the smile on her face, "How is it going with those neighbours of yours, Nephera? Are they still bothering you?"

The brunette made a noise of affirmation from the back of her throat, "That's an understatement," she spat, "They stick their noses in everything, have I told you about how they tried talking to us about a- Merlin,  what was it called again?"

James, who had been present during that rather disturbing interaction, barked out a laugh, "Neighborhood watch," he said

"No they didn't," laughed Lily, "Vernon, Petunia's boyfriend- or fiance now, I guess- wanted to do the same thing,"

The relationship between Lily and Petunia had completely fallen apart after the death of Lily's parents but for reason's unknown to all of them, Petunia had decided to invite her younger sister to her wedding. Perhaps even the most bitter of people wanted some of their family around them on their wedding day, "What is it, exactly?" asked Fleamont

"Essentially, people patrol up and down the streets and report any weird stuff that happens," explained the redhead

"You can understand why neither of us was so keen on joining," mused Sirius

Nephera saw an opportunity and took it, "Oh come on Sirius," she teased, "What with you being all young and strong and-"

The boy cut her off by wrapping an arm around her head and placing his hand on top of her mouth, "Shut it," he ordered, but the girl did not listen as she tore the boy's hand away from her mouth, "Karen has quite the fascination with Snuffles over here,"

Everyone laughed as the boy rolled his eyes, "That woman is a menace, not to mention the fact that apparently, the grandkids are coming to visit in a week!" he mocked in a rather terrible American accent

"Godric I feel sorry for you," laughed James, "We got lucky, there's no one living next to us,"

Lily snorted, and Nephera could tell that she was refraining from making a dorty joke of some sort, "Thank Merlin for that," she said instead

A silver lion flew into the room, "Moody's Patronus," said Nephera, recognising it

'27 Holywolk's Street, Winchester and Potter, apparate there, we've got a mission for you'  spoke the lion, and just like that the atmosphere turned from joyous to tense

Fleamont and Euphemia, although members of the Order, had taken a step back due to their age but that did not mean that they weren't filled in with what was going on, "What's that about?" asked Fleamont

"No clue," replied Nephera, as she shared a tense look with James, "We need to go," she said

James, although excited, could not stop the slight twinge of fear coursing through him. He had never been to an Order mission before, and while he wanted to get in on the action, it was still scary to know.
