In the small sliding window out of steel, there was never a time where Mitsuya don't poke his head out just to see (Y/n) on her way to go home back to her apartment. The two often exchange waves with grinning beams made to brighten each other's day. Mitsuya always knew the time the girl will go home that he'll sometimes go to her school just to fetch the young girl, even though she already had her brother as a companion. Casual talks, eating together, playing like little kids, it was the most precious times of the two.
Mitsuya had a "crush" on (Y/n), like what kids typically call their feelings towards someone. Of course he was also aware of (Y/n)'s liking towards him, yet for reasons, he kept them inside of him even if it'll wound him.
"Takashi darling, how's school?" Mitsuya's mother asked as they all ate at the table.
"It's great... I guess? Oh I also like someone." Mitsuya replied, tints of red flushing in his cheeks.
"A girl?"
"Y-yeah."
"That's sweet. But don't ask her out okay?" Mitsuya's mom responded, taking the boy in confusion as his mother just gave him a small smile.
"Wait for the right time... maybe if things settled down."
"I can't because I still have responsibilities with my sisters right? That's what you're saying." Mitsuya sucked his teeth, losing his appetite before hearing his mother sigh.
"I'm sorry--"
"I understand." Mitsuya forced a smile even it'll hurt him-- but he never considered that as hopelessness. He promised himself that he'll tell (Y/n) all he felt at the right time... the time when that he's already free from his burdens, the time that they aren't kids anymore.
"Darling, can I ask who's this girl you're talking about?" His mother suddenly questioned.
"It's erm... (Y/n)."
"Baji (Y/n)?" His mother clarified. The mention of the girl's name was already enough to make the boy's face redden, which his mother chuckled.
"How about Suzumi?" His mother asked, chuckling a little but that being said made Mitsuya's face grim, already knowing what his mother meant.
Suzumi, another friend of his since kindergarten, daughter of a doctor working in a prestigious hospital in Japan, had been the girl who's being matched with him ever since he was a kid. To tell the truth, he never had any specific liking towards the girl.
"We're good." He sighed, not having the energy to argue with his mom.
"She likes you right? Why not--"
"I don't like her mom." He stood, gathering his and his sisters' dishes before walking out as he felt his stomach twist from the thought of him being forced to someone.
"Neh Baji what'll you do if someone approached (Y/n)-chan. Like you know?" Mikey smirked as the six of them sat near the shrine. The question made Mitsuya stop from fidgeting the ball he was holding, glancing a little at Baji who also noticed Mitsuya's response.
