As I walk inside, I am hit with music, lights and the awful stench of wine. My mind travels to my dad, who must still be passed out on the couch, and Louis, who is probably enjoying spending time with his friends... As I enter the main living area, Sophia takes a hold of my hand, gripping it with unknown strength, I could sense the panic all over her. I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze before dropping it and walking further into the overcrowded room.My heart bulges out of my body as I catch sight of Ferris laid across the sofa, with a girl sprawled over him.
My eyes darted to Christina who has already seen the scene in front of us. Her fists are clenched to her side as she tries to force a smile. Mustering up some bravery, I watch as she strides past the sofa, her eyes fixated on the wall.
I quickly follow her, pulling Sophia with me. As I enter the room that Christina marched into, I am greeted with Christina's lips attached to a bottle of Rosé. Not knowing what to do, I walk in front of her, gasping as her eyes squint from the taste of the burning poison down her throat.
My instinct tells me to snatch the bottle from her hand but my head is telling me that she NEEDS to erase that image from her mind and this is the only way to do it. Has she ever drank before? Is this her first time?
Christina pulls the bottle away from her lips, opening her eyes to meet ours.
"What?" She asks, taking another swig of the drink.
Sophia opens her mouth to speak.
"Christina, have you drank before?"
Christina nods her head, spilling some of the drink on to the floor in front of us.
"I'm gonna go and find something to eat," Sophia says, leaving me alone with Christina. I watch as she takes another gulp of the rosé wine.
"Did you know that Ferris is a good kisser?" Christina asks, already slightly intoxicated by the beverage.
"No.." I answer, slightly wishing that I did.
"Well he is." She harshly remarks, bringing the bottle to her lips once again.
"Do you want some?" She pushes the bottle into my hands and walks out of the room.
I stand in the room, eyeing the unfamiliar bottle in my hand, wondering how one thing can ruin a person's life so drastically. After a couple of minutes, I walk out of the room in search of Sophia or Christina. But as soon as I enter the main room, I wish I never came to this blasted party. Christina is straddling Ferris' lap. And her lips are surgically attached to his.
A pang of jealousy hits me, twisting the knife inside me a little more. As I watch from a distance, my eyes bulging out of my head, I can feel the tears on the verge of spilling. Before I became a blubbering mess, I choke on my breath as Sophia grips Christina's arm, pulling her off of Ferris, dragging her towards me and through to a different room. As I walk into the room, I can instantly see that it is a bedroom, and luckily it isn't occupied. Sophia switches the light on, glaring at Christina through her makeup free face. I could see the guilt in Christina's face as she sighs, turns around and plonks herself on the bed.
"What the hell was that?!" Sophia screams, waving her arm towards the closed door.
"I- I'm sorry, okay, I'm drunk." Christina whispers, filling me with sympathy.
I walk towards Sophia, trying to ease her temper.
"She gives a valid point, Sophia, it's okay." I say, taking her hand into mine.
"But maaaan, did it feel goooood..." I hear Christina say behind us. I turn my head just in time to see her fall back onto the bed.
"I missed his lips against mine-"
"Okay!" I squeal, not wanting to know the details about their rendezvous.
But she carries on."He's so good at making me f-"
I quickly run and cover Christina's mouth with my hand, a smirk playing on my lips.
"I don't want to know what you guys did, okay?"
She nods her head.
"I'm gonna move my hand, you have to stay quiet and s-"
Before I can finish my sentence, Christina's tongue darts out and licks the palm of my hand. I jerk my hand away, rubbing it against her dress.
"Eeeww!" I scream, listening to Sophia's soft laugh in front of us.
Suddenly, the door opens and a drunk couple stumble into the room, their lips sucking at one another.
"Hey, we're busy here!" Christina screams, jolting the couple from their intimacy.
"We are busy, please leave the room you dirty humans." Christina surprises me and Sophia by saying.
The couple quickly leave the room, banging the door behind them.
"Christina!" Sophia remarks, coming and laying next to her. Instinctively, I lay on the other side, crossing my arms across my chest.
"I'm so glad we are friends," Sophia says.
"Me and Feri-rris can never be friends..." Christina says, looking up at the ceiling.
I wish me and Ferris were friends like we used to be... Sophia lets out a little chuckle before sitting up and walking towards the door.
"Let's go and try to enjoy the rest of this party."
Christina struggles to sit up, holding my arm as she jumps off the bed.
"This shi-shit party," She hiccups, swinging her arm around Sophia as I get up and open the door for the both of them to walk out.
As I watch Sophia and Christina walk out the bedroom and into the party, I can't help but think about how Christina was feeling when she was kissing Ferris, how it felt, how it made HER feel. How would it make me feel? I shake the thought out of my head as I follow Sophia through to where most people are dancing to the music. Most of the people here aren't even old enough to drink, hell, even Christina isn't old enough to drink. I spot the drink of rosé that I left on the table before my search for Christina. My heart thumps as Christina picks up the fowl liquid and brings it to her lips once again. Sophia snatches it out of her hand and passes it to me, telling me to throw it away. Christina's face goes from angry to understanding as she walks through the room and sits on the couch where she was making out with Ferris just a couple of minutes ago. Except, Ferris isn't on the couch anymore.
I look at the bottle of wine in my hand, it's half empty. Jolting me out of my thoughts, my phone vibrates in the purse that I was carrying. Quickly, I take the phone out of my pocket and check who it is. Dad.
Uh oh.
Without thinking I answer the phone bringing it to my ear.
"Where the hell are you?!" He screams in my ear.
"I- I'm at a party with my friends." I say hesitantly.
"You're what?!" He booms, causing me to pull my phone away from my ear for a second.
"I'm sorry, you were asleep and-"
"Kaylee, I want you home in an hour."
The call is cut off and my mouth is gaping open. Did he- He- What?
He took that quite well, didn't he? He didn't seem to be affected that I was at a party... Or maybe he's saving his energy for when I come home, so that he can put his hands on me again, so he can scream at me again...
Before I know it, the lid to the wine is off and the bottle is attached to my lips.
A/N: So I lied.
They don't meet until the next chapter lol. Also, I'd like to point out that Ferris and Kaylee used to be friends when they were younger but then they went to different high schools. They then go to the same college but didn't rekindle the friendship.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
