The Missing Avatar

Chapter 20

The car ride was silent, Asami can only hear the low singing voice from the radio. "I'm sorry" she heard the driver say with a sigh. "I didn't mean what I said in the locker room"

"You were right though" Asami said not looking towards the driver but out the window "I should be the one saying sorry, I'm just confused and it's making you confused and all I'm doing is fucking up this friendship" Asami leaned her head back onto the head rest. "I'm sorry Korra"

The car fell silent again as they stopped at a red light, Korra looked over to the passenger who stared out the window full of thoughts. "Listen" Asami started "I do like you, like a lot, but I feel like you push me away so I always end up back to Kuvira" She admitted. Korra found herself stuck staring at the beauty. This is what she wanted but she can't have it, her father wouldn't let it happen.

A car horn honked at Korra making her wake up into reality and continued driving. "Hey Korra?" Asami now looked over to the driver "can you take me somewhere, where we can be alone" she sighed "I can use a break from the world"

"Yeah, me too"

Zaheer was busy looking over the blue print from the last heist. He got started building it but didn't really understood it, so he planned on making Korra finish it when she got back form school since she got into engineering, hints her rebuilding a car. His phone rang, "hello?" He spoke into the phone, the person on the other side of the phone told him about his daughter being expelled. "Great" he whispered to himself as he hung up the phone. He got up and left

"What's going on?" P'li asked as she notice a somewhat annoyed husband as she was doing the dishes

"Well Korra got expelled, she got in another fight" he sighed

"So what now?" Ming-Hua asked

"Well, Korra's trial is today, after we get out of there we seriously need to start taking this Avatar state more seriously" Zaheer said

"Do you think she'll lose the case?" P'Li asked

"She won't" the father figure said

"And if she does?" Ghazan crossed his arms making the man think "she'll go to jail for holding drugs and 'under age drinking'"

"Stop thinking so negatively" Ming-hua said "look after she won the case I think you need to talk to the school and get her back in. The way I see it is if she's not in school and has this case in her name do you know how that would look on her"

"Her image doesn't matter, we only need her for something so simple" Ghazan said

"But we have to act like it does matter, make it seem like we care, to manipulate Korra" Ming-hua said

"I don't get it" the long haired male said with a confused face

"Listen dumbass, Korra sees us as family, the moment we show interest only in her power and nothing else she'll leave." Ming-hua said hoping he understood

Korra and Asami sat on the roof of the car as they viewed the city from a cliff. "I came here a lot with Naga" Korra said with a smile as the city never left her sight. "This is where I got away from everyone" she then looked at Asami who was already staring at her "It's much more beautiful at night though" Korra said with a chuckle and a side grin

"I never really got out much, mainly my dad's fault" Asami sighed.

"Hey Asami?" Korra looked away "why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"Nothing never mind" Korra couldn't bring herself to say anything.

"Oh come on Korra, if you tell me I'll get you an Oreo flavored... whatever the hell you want" Asami tried negotiating making Korra chuckle lightly but still didn't want to say anything. "How about we stay silent and enjoy the view" Korra suggested
