THIRTEEN

There's no need to rush things when you can wait for the paragon

Shifting time went by in a swish. Despite the two not spending Christmas and New Year's together, Harry sent Kara pictures of him and James together often. The two were spending their time together with Ginny in Switzerland for Christmas. Kara had to push away her feelings knowing how James has been lately.

It seemed like the toddler started to realize his parents are no longer together causing him to throw more tantrums. James was a sweet calm child so this was very unusual for him. However, based on the pictures Harry has sent of the toddler, James' mood has slowly lifted again.

Though all twisted spirals of jealousy were forgotten when Rosa's wedding came up. Seeing how Rosa was as happy as a clam couldn't help but make Kara just as sunny as her best friend. Exhilaration like unpolished painted blissfulnesses propagated across the place.

Being Rosa's maid of honor kept Kara busy but knowing Harry was somewhere out there was enough.

"I'm not going to cry later," announced Rosa to Kara and the bridesmaids, her little sisters.

"Yeah right," scoffed Sofia, Rosa's sixteen-year-old sister. "She's a cry baby."

"Yes," Valeria and Valentina added in unison, Rosa's twelve-year-old twin sisters.

"Oh shut up."

Kara could only chuckle at their interaction. "You okay, Rosa?"

Rosa nodded, gulping, as she straightened her dress tensely. The blonde decided to approach her best friend. With a grin, Kara pulled her best friend into a side hug as the two gazed at themselves in the mirror.

"You look so beautiful. If you're not going to cry, he would, without a doubt. I would," said Kara.

Rosa flung herself to Kara and whispered, "Thank you," as her voice shook just a little.

"Don't you start crying now."

"I won't." Rosa pulled herself back from the embrace.

"Now let's go, beauty," Kara told her best friend, interlacing her hand with Rosa as the blonde led their way outside of the room.

With Kara being the maid of honor, she walked alone in the aisle. Her breath stopped a second when she saw Harry's gaze at her as the corner of his lips tweaked and kept pulling upwards. His eyes were glimmered with fondness while Kara's heart kept hammering inside her chest.

She kept whispering in her head, "Don't trip," as she took her step before reaching her end. And when she saw Rosa accompanied by her father, Harry was out of her mind for a second.

Rosa looked angelic and wore a beatific expression as she walked down the aisle. Kara looked at Logan whose eyes were trained at his soon-to-be wife as it kept getting glossier by the second. He let a few tears fall and chuckle at the bride while Rosa's cheeks were so pulled due to how hard she was smiling.

While Rosa and Logan were exchanging vows, Kara looked at Harry again to see his eyes were already on her. He gave Kara two thumbs up and Kara nodded in return.

Kara cheered as her best friend kissed her husband. All she could think about was how much she wanted this. How much she wanted to find her forever and achieve her dream wedding. Though her heart clenched when the thought of her father swiftly appeared in her head.

The wedding went by smoothly for the rest of the day. She even caught the bouquet, causing Rosa to keep teasing her, saying she should make a move on Harry.

"Hey." Kara tapped on Harry's shoulder who was busy engaging in a conversation with people he knew from the ministry.

Harry grinned when she saw the bouquet in her grasp. "Hey," he greeted her before looking at his mates again. "I'll see you guys around."

Harry pulled her to the dance floor and raised his eyebrows at her, conveying he wanted a dance with her.

Kara put the bouquet in her extendable charmed purse and slowly wrapped her arms around his neck. He slowly put his arms around her waist, sending tingles all over her body at the contact.

"Thank you for coming," she said gratefully. "I'm sorry I've been on a bad date, I have to make sure everything is perfect."

"S'alright," he replied, grinning, as he lightly shook his head. "So. . . you're going to be married soon huh?"

"Oh shut up," she groaned, resting her forehead on his brown shirt.

"No, don't shut up me," he kept teasing her. "I think you'd be a beautiful bride."

"Thanks," she replied, finally looking up, showing her reddened cheeks.

He put his fingers on her chin and locked her gaze to him. "You even look so beautiful now — you always do. I couldn't help but imagine seeing you as a bride when you walked down the aisle. I'd cry like Logan too you know — maybe even more."

"You didn't cry at your wedding?" Her eyebrows pulled together.

He shook his head. "But I was still so emotional. I couldn't stop smiling the whole day. My heart was pumping so hard, I could hear it."

She ignored the pain in her chest.

"So why'd you say you'd cry?" she asked.

"Try to recall what I said, love," he whispered, leaning forward to her right cheek and softly giving her a peck. "My feelings for you never changed, Kara."

For a second, she forgot how to breathe and just locked her eyes at him, lost at words.

"I don't expect you to return my feelings but I just want to let you know, if you want to give me a chance, I promise to always be there for you," he said, voice as soft as the waves in the ocean, as calming, as soothing as so.

"Really?" she croaked out.

"Without a doubt." He nodded affirmatively. "But if you don't, please don't let me out of your life again. Let me be your forever friend, I don't mind. I don't want you out of my life again, Kara."

He tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled fondly at her.

"And what if I return your feelings?" Her eyes perked up.

"That would make me very happy," he responded, cupping her face as his fingers went to the shell of her head, behind her ear.

Right now, everything she felt about him propagated. His potent eyes penetrated her gaze. He looked roguishly handsome with the smooth material that clung around his body. She took a deep breath at how deep he studied her. His hair was frictionlessly neat that her fingers twitched, begging to run themselves through his hair. Fuck it, she thought.

He hummed and shut his eyes when her fingers ran smoothly through his hair. Taking the opportunity, her lips went to his lower one. She dragged her mouth to kiss him whole as her hands went to cup his neck, fingers on his nape. He let her and returned the kiss immediately.

Her heart was soaring as her stomach went giddy. Goosebumps ran through her body when his fingers trailed along her backbone before his hands locked themselves on her hips.

When they pulled away, his forehead followed her, resting to each other before he let out a guttural sigh.

"So. . . what will happen now?" asked Kara sheepishly.

"Anything you want," he answered, hands gripping her hips tighter.

"Tell me," she demanded. "Just say it."

"Let's start with, do you want to go on a date with me, Kara?"

She nodded almost immediately and her lips sealed together, turning into a wide grin.
