FOURTEEN

Warm air rose and expanded, just like how you rose me up from my stagnation, expanding my heart cheerily

Dear diary,

I just had my first kiss under the mistletoe with the boy I have loved since I was 5. It was beautiful. I liked how he felt around my lips. His lips were soft and alluring, I couldn't help but admire them. He tasted like mint — the addicting one. A soft blush crept up to both of his cheeks when we pulled away. I couldn't help but brush through his plumped pink lips afterward. Taking me by surprise, he pulled me closer and leaned in for a rougher kiss this time.

He has always been attractive but seeing how captivating he was after our kiss enticed me even more. We decided to see how this goes. I hope we can date by next year.

Everything felt so surreal, the whole time I thought it was a dream. It wasn't. Afterward, we decided to ask Dobby to bring us chicken nuggets and french fries and he did. We ended up talking about all kinds of things while eating the delicious meal the adorable elf had brought us.

I could cry with happiness thinking about it.

I couldn't believe it but it wasn't surprising. I always knew this would happen someday, anybody would know, but when it was you, your life, you couldn't see the situation from the outside perspective, making me doubt myself sometimes, but now I knew it was stupid to ever doubt his feelings.

It's almost twelve but I have to sleep, diary. I'll see you tomorrow and update you on our relationship.

"Aw, what an adorable thing, Kara," Harry teased her, lightly pinching her cheek.

"Oh shut up," Kara mumbled sheepishly.

"Now, up, up, we are going on a full-day date today." He stood up from his sofa and offered his hand to her.

She gladly took it and once she was on her two feet, he immediately nibbled his lips to hers.

"What do you have planned for today?" she asked, toying around with his hair.

"A surprise that's for sure so I am not going to tell you anything."

She huffed but nodded along.

"Let's go outside and apparate," Harry told her, offering his hand for her to grasp. Kara gladly took a hold of his hand.

She felt the familiar sucking feeling as they apparated before she felt a sudden change of the ground. Chirping sounds of the birds could be heard and the fresh air from the trees greeted her beamingly.

"Harry, yer here!" beamed the familiar voice. A sudden intrusion of Hagrid pulled Harry into his embrace. Hagrid's head then snapped in Kara's direction, leaving him agape. "Yer really here. . ."

"Yep," replied Kara sheepishly.

"Crazy huh?" Harry smirked while slightly nodding his head.

"Good to have yeh back." She could see her reflection from Hagrid's eyes before he pulled her into a hug.

Hagrid gave Harry a wink before leading the two to a place that by the second, Kara grew more attached to it. She had an idea where this was but knowing Harry, she thought this was impossible.

"It's Hogwarts. We're at Hogwarts," she announced.

"Yeah," Harry replied, squeezing her hand comfortingly.

Kara turned her face around to face him, frowning. "But I thought you don't want to visit here. It's Hogwarts, Harry."

"I know," Harry breathed out. "We're not in those places, Kara, I'm good. Remember this place?"

"Where we ride Buckb- '' There it was, the mystical creature they were greatly chummy of. "Buckbeak!"

"Yes, Buckbeak." Harry chuckled. "I think you can guess what we're going to do today."

"Yes," Kara gushed, clasping her hands together. She practically ran, almost tripping, before Harry's instinct kicked in, making sure she didn't meet the ground.

With the help of Hagrid, the two got on Buckbeak's back. The hippogriff hummed happily at Harry's embrace, indicating he remembered the once third-year bespectacled boy who rode him and saved him from his execution.

Just like all those years ago, Kara sat behind him, grappling Harry securely. His alluring scent lingered to her nose as his body radiated comfort, fortifying her from any feasible peril.

As they were in the air, any gloom-ridden attitude that could've held them back immediately evaporated, like the warm air that rose, letting out wails of serotonin.

"Wohoo," Kara screamed beamingly. "Let go of your hands, Harry, just like what you did back then!"

Unlike last time, they intertwined their hands as they let go of their grasp. Everything felt light, it was like she had no burden in life. This time, she was truly living in the moment. She forgot all the things that had happened to her, or the things that would happen in the foreseeable future, because for once, Kara was here, just here.

"I haven't tasted butterbeer in a while, Merlin, it's delicious," keened Kara. "I feel like I'm fifteen again."

"Just like our not-so dates before huh?" Harry teased her, raising his glass.

"Yeah." She chuckled before hiding her blush by drinking her butterbeer. "Hey, this was the table we sat at during our first not-so-date!"

"You got that right." He grinned proudly.

"Merlin, you're really making me feel nostalgic," she breathed out, putting her drink down.

"That was the whole point, Kara," he stated the obvious.

"No need to use that tone on me," she huffed.

"I'm kidding, c'mon," he joked, lightly pinching her hand. "What do you want to do after this?"

"Just explore Hogsmeade." She shrugged. "I haven't been here in years."

"Everything seems to look the same," he pointed out gratefully.

"I know. . ."

She was truly the tranquility in his life. Never once he was in this state of serene but being here, in a place he should've felt the wariest, he didn't. Instead, he begged for this day to never end. His heart was incredibly fluttery while his heart was hammering.

There she was, in front of him, looking as dainty as possible, heart as soft as cotton, voice as elegant as a princess. She was truly breathtaking – utterly jaw-dropping.

Kara's presence for being back in his life made him think, how was it possible for him to survive those years without her. She was every bit of him and he would rather not eat treacle tart for the rest of his life than to have her not in his life anymore.

And of course, he loved her. He always did.
