Set after Ragnorok, Infinity War didn't happen okies?
I actually wrote this one whilst drunk and it's so angsty 😭

Y/N's P.O.V.

Norway was a beautiful place to live. It always had been.
I lived in a cabin not too far from the town of Tønsberg, overlooking the beaches down below.
I had never expected Odin All-Father to show up on my doorstep, but when he did, I didn't know how to react. He was the one who banished me to Midgard so many centuries ago.
He had asked for my forgiveness and I was speechless, thinking that it was all some kind of joke, but it wasn't.
He told me what had happened on Asgard with Loki and Thor, with the frost giants and the dark elves.
I never imagined I'd grow to care for the man that almost ruined my life, yet when he passed, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming loneliness. I missed the old fool.

"Thank you." I smiled at the merchant genuinely as I let the handle of my basket rest on my forearm.
I lived a simple life, mostly keeping to myself and visiting the village no more than twice a week. In the comfort of my home I could relax, I could practice my magic and be myself, but the villagers believed me to be a foreign hermit, and in a way, I was.
The walk back to my cabin wasn't a long one, but when I got there, I was confused to find the door open. Placing down my basket, I summoned a dagger in one hand as I gently pushed the door open as I carefully moved inside. I almost dropped the weapon when I saw the two beaten up princes on my couches.

"Hello, Y/N." Loki smirked weakly as he tried to sit up, wincing slightly. His voice was croaky and there was fresh bruising all around his throat.
Thor was completely unconscious, but not dead.
They both looked older, but it was definitely them. They hadn't changed at all, not really.

"What happened?" I asked, hesitantly moving over to Thor's side. I knelt down next to him, hesitating.
I was a healer. A very good one, at that. The problem was, they were both gravely injured and I wasn't entirely sure where to start. It had been a long time since I had seen injuries as bad as the ones the brothers had.

"Is he okay?" Loki asked, now standing next to me. He was clearly in a lot of pain and there was a vulnerability in his eyes. The Loki I knew would never outwardly show concern for his brother. Maybe he had changed.

"He will be." I nodded, deciding on clearing the older prince's head wounds was a priority.
"I haven't seen you since 2012. The mad Titan had you under his thumb and you tried to... convince me to join you."

"I nearly killed you." Loki corrected and I glanced up as regret flashed across his features. I frowned a little at that and neither of us said anything for a few minutes.
"I'm-"

"Don't apologise, Loki. It wasn't you who was in control. I know that." I interrupted.
"Sit down and tell me what happened."
Loki told me of Ragnorok and Sakkar, Hela and the Grandmaster, Surtur and Thanos.

"Thor and I were able to create a big enough distraction whilst everyone else escaped." Thor was completely healed, but still unconscious. I had moved onto Loki, healing each injury individually. He had it a lot worse than Thor and it made me wonder how he was even alive.
"With the help of the Hulk and a Valkyrie, we were able to kill Thanos and his order."

"A Valkyrie?" I muttered in disbelief and Loki smiled weakly, nodding his head.

"She's terrifying. I think you two will get along." He muttered and I scoffed. I tried to focus on healing the cut on his head, but his cold hand cupped mine, his other reaching out and touching my cheek.
"Y/N, I must say, you get even more beautiful every time I see you."

"Loki, don't." I sighed, moving his hand away from my face. He frowned slightly at that.
Many, many years ago, Loki and I were together. He was my best friend and my lover, I trusted no one more, but that all changed when I was banished.

"You're mad at me?" Loki asked, a hurt look in his eyes.
"Of course you are, I hurt you. I almost killed you." Loki looked disgusted with himself and it broke my heart.

"No. That's not why I'm mad at you." I sighed.
"I told you already. What happened in 2012 wasn't you. I don't blame you for that."

"Then what is it?" The trickster asked desperately.
"What can I do to fix this?"

"How many times did we use the secret passageways between realms to sneak onto Midgard? How many hours did we spend here together, hiding from our parents and responsibilities?" I asked and Loki knew where this was going, I could see the shame in his eyes.
"Loki, I've been here for over 300 years. Why did you never come to see me? I lost everyone and everything I lived and the one person who had the chance to find me never bothered. It quite literally took mind control to get you here."

"I was scared." He admitted.
"Scared that you blamed me for your exile. Scared that I would come and you would hate me."

"I do hate you, Loki. I hate you for leaving me alone in this world." My voice was barely whisper and I looked up, trying to blink away the tears trying to form.
"But my actions were my own. The only person to blame for my exile is me."

"You really hate me?" Loki asked quietly and I looked in his eyes.

"I do." I shrugged.
"But I also love you. I will love you until I take my last breath. If I could make myself stop hating you, I would, in a heartbeat.
Do you know what it's like for me? To hate you with such conviction whilst loving you with such passion?"

"No, I don't." Loki muttered.
"But I'm going to make this better. I'm going to fix this." He promised, taking both of my hands in his.
"You might believe this can't be fixed, but I'm... different now. I can clearly see mistakes I made in the past and I'm not going to make them again." I looked at him in confusion.
"I love you, Y/N. More than I have ever loved anyone. I will make this better, for both of us."
