"So... you're from the past?" Anya sits with Loki in the living room, watching as he inspects the hot brown substance in the cup he is holding.

"Time flows in circles, but technically, yes. I am from the past of your timeline." Loki agrees, sipping his drink. He raises his brows as the taste sinks into his tongue. "This drink, I like it."

Wanda chuckles from the seat across them, folding her legs underneath herself. "It's called coffee."

"Coffee," Loki tests the word with his lips, and Anya watches with fascination as if she remembers something. The memory brings a brief smile to her face.

"So, this TVA organization, they're like SHIELD, but they govern time, and arrest the ones who mess with it?" Wanda asks.

"In your terms, that would be a good analogy." Loki nods, clearly enjoying his coffee.

"Why would they arrest someone who has no idea what their crime is?" Anya asks with a frown. "I mean, you didn't even know that you took a different path. It's not your fault."

Loki gives her a look that says finally, someone understands! "Exactly! Thank you. That is exactly what is wrong with the place. They believe that they can dictate everything that a person does, and capture the ones who made their own choice."

Wanda and Anya share a glance upon Loki's relief. Wanda shrugs at Anya. "They arrest people because of Nexus Events?"

"Yes. My Nexus Event is that I picked up the Tesseract and left before I was taken back to Asgard. In the aftermath of New York." Loki tells them.

"So... you really have no idea who I am?" Anya asks with a saddened tone.

Loki shakes his head apologetically. "I'm afraid I don't have memories of you. I only know you from what the TVA showed me, and what the other me's talked about."

Wanda sputters. "Sorry, other Loki's?"

"Yes. Older me. Boastful me. They both met Anya before they were captured by the TVA."

Anya frowns. "Older you? I thought you were supposed to die after Ragnarok."

"Yes, well, this variant of myself is much cleverer and didn't try to attack Thanos with a dagger. Instead, he hid and escaped. He stayed on an isolated planet until he grew old and got lonely enough to leave."

"So that you, older you, he didn't come back for me either." Anya visibly fumes.

Loki hesitates before ultimately shrugging. "He did say that leaving you on Earth was his biggest regret."

Anya sighs in frustration, realizing she is angry at Loki's that don't even belong to her timeline. "Christ, I need a drink."

Wanda hums, already on her feet. "Me, too. This is a lot."
