Y/N's POV

I was lying on the ward bed reading Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger. Even though I didn't particularly like Snape due to his unfair biased, he was very knowledgeable and I seemed to have a knack for potions. Ultimately, my goal was to somehow gain points for Gryffindor during potions by the end of the year, even though it seemed pretty impossible. My attention was drawn from my book when I heard the sound of footsteps against the marble tiled floor. I looked up from my book and found Hermione, Harry, and Ron almost running towards me. They stopped to catch their breath, Ron clutched his side, he seemed to have a stitch. "So, I assume you're the special visitors that Professor McGonagall mentioned." I said with a smirk on my face. Harry smiled and nodded. I looked at what he was carrying. "How've you got a broom Potter?" I asked.  "Courtesy of Professor McGonagall." Harry said as his smile grew bigger. "It's not just any broom (Y/N), it's a Nimbus 2000!" Ron exclaimed. Seem's we're her favourites." I said, my smirk growing. "You should have seen Malfoy's face when he saw Harry's new broom." Ron said looking star struck as he remembered the sight. "It looked even better when Hermione gave him some cheek!" Harry exclaimed. Now, this really did shock me. I turned my attention to Hermione who suddenly found how interesting the floor was. "Hermione! You didn't!" I said trying to hold back my laughter. "Guess we've been a bad influence on you! I said with a huge grin on my face. Hermione then looked up at me with a hint of rose in her cheeks and replied with "Well I couldn't let him insult my friends." I smiled. "Friends, I like the sound of that." I said. We all looked at each other with smiles on how faces, it had been a couple of days since we were all together. Madam Pomfrey walked in with a stern expression on her face. "Now Mr (Y/N), you have already seen me twice so far, I don't want you coming here for the rest of the year!" she exclaimed with a serious tone. "I'm afraid that I can't promise you that Miss Pomfrey." I said as she looked at me with disappointment. Hermione's eyes bulged at my response as she gave me her classic death glare while Harry and Ron tried to hold back their laughter. She then turned her attention to the others and said "Now I'll need the three of you to keep an eye on him, I've never dealt with a first-year with such serious injuries." Madam Pomfrey stated. Hermoine nodded muttering something to keep an eye on me. "Well, I see no reason to hold you here any longer, I very much hope not to see you again." she said, shaking her head as she walked off. I sat up from the bed and stretched, "Well Harry, better get to the game." I said with a smile.

The Gryffindor stand was filled with a sea of red and gold. I was extremely impressed with Neville, Ron, Parvati, and Lavender's Gryffindor banner. There was an enormous uproar as the players zoomed out into the middle of the pitch. I looked out to see Madam Hooch giving a stern talking to the Slytherin quidditch captain. I looked at him in disgust, he very much reminded me of the troll I faced the other night. Madam Hooch then blasted her silver whistle as 15 brooms raced into the air. The Weasley twins' friend, Lee Jordan, was doing the commentary for the match, closely under the supervision of Professor McGonagall. "And the Quaffle is taken immediately by Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor — what an excellent Chaser that girl is, and rather attractive, too —" "JORDAN!" "Sorry, Professor." I tried to hold back my laughter but failed miserably.  "And she's really speeding along up there, a neat pass to Alicia Spinnet, agood find of Oliver Wood's, last year only a reserve — back to Johnson and —no, the Slytherins have taken the Quaffle, Slytherin Captain Marcus Flint gainsthe Quaffle and off he goes — Flint flying like an eagle up there — he's going tosc— no, stopped by an excellent move by Gryffindor Keeper Wood and theGryffindors take the Quaffle — that's Chaser Katie Bell of Gryffindor there, nicedive around Flint, off up the field and — OUCH — that must have hurt, hit inthe back of the head by a Bludger — Quaffle taken by the Slytherins — that'sAdrian Pucey speeding off toward the goal posts, but he's blocked by a secondBludger — sent his way by Fred or George Weasley, can't tell which — niceplay by the Gryffindor Beater, anyway, and Johnson back in possession of theQuaffle, a clear field ahead and off she goes — she's really flying — dodges aspeeding Bludger — the goal posts are ahead — come on, now, Angelina —Keeper Bletchley dives — misses — GRYFFINDORS SCORE!" . Cheers filled the Gryffindor stand as I jumped up and waved, showing my house pride. Boo's and moans could be heard from the Slytherins. To be honest, if it weren't for the commentary I wouldn't be able to keep up with the game. "Budge up there, move along." Our attention was turned to Hagrid who was avidly cheering for Harry. "Hagrid you made it!" Hermione exclaimed. "Wouldn't miss this game for anything!" Hagrid bellowed. I bunched up against the stand as Hermione had been pushed up against me, I heard her whisper a little "sorry" as her cheeks grew a rose-red again. Hagrid shouted over the noise of the game "(Y/N)! How's your father's book coming along?" "It's going well! Dumbledore seemed to like the draft. He looks to publish it just after Christmas!" I replied. Hagrid smiled in pleasure, he was really looking forward to my dad's upcoming book. I looked up and saw Harry way above the other players. Then I remembered the role of the seeker was to catch the snitch, no point in getting involved in the fight below. Then I saw him dive, "He's seen the snitch!" Ron shouted as he pointed out Harry. Then out of nowhere the ugly brute that was the Slytherin quidditch captain rammed Harry cutting him off from tracking the snitch. Harry barely held onto his broom, he took a bad hit. I looked over to see Hagrid and Ron fueled with rage as they cursed away. Hermione however had her heart on her sleeve as she looked in horror her eyes almost spilling tears. After all, she had just seen her new friend almost die, the second time in a week. I moved a little closer to comfort her, I didn't like to see Hermoine cry. Madam Hooch spoke angrily to Flint and then ordered a free shot at the goal posts for Gryffindor. Dean Thomas was yelling, "Send him off, ref! Redcard!""What are you talking about, Dean?" said Ron."Red card!" I said calmly. "In soccer, you get shown the red card and you're out of the game!" "But this isn't soccer, (Y/N)," Ron reminded me, Hermione chuckled at our banter.Hagrid, however, was on Dean's side."They oughta change the rules. Flint coulda knocked Harry outta the air."Lee Jordan was also finding it difficult not to take sides."So — after that obvious and disgusting bit of cheating —""Jordan!" growled Professor McGonagall."I mean, after that open and revolting foul..." "Jordan, I'm warning you —""All right, all right. Flint nearly kills the Gryffindor Seeker, which could happen to anyone, I'm sure, so a penalty to Gryffindor, taken by Spinner, who puts it away, no trouble, and we continue to play, Gryffindor still in possession." Jordan said, calming herself after her burst of rage. I looked up to see Harry watching the game below him, but he was in trouble, again. It looked like he had no control whatsoever over his broom, if anything it was trying to buck him off. "Look at Harry, he's in trouble again!" I yelled. Hermione, Ron and Hagrid looked in horror. It seemed that no one else noticed, they were too busy watching the game. Harry's broom was carrying him slowly higher, away from the game, jerking and twitching as it went. "Dunno what Harry thinks he's doing," Hagrid mumbled. He stared through his binoculars. "If I didn't know better, I'd say he'd lost control of his broom...but he can't have...."Suddenly, I noticed that people were pointing up at Harry all over the stands. His room had started to roll over and over, with him only just managing to hold on. we all gasped, Hermione covered her eyes. Harry's broom had given a wild jerk and he swung off it. He was now dangling from it, holding on with only one hand."Did something happen to it when Flint blocked him?" Ron whispered."Can't have," Hermione said, her voice shaking. "Nothing can't interfere with a broomstick except powerful Dark magic — no student could do that."At these words, Hermione seized Hagrid's binoculars, but instead of looking up at Harry, she started looking frantically at the crowd."What are you doing?" I asked, grey-faced."I knew it," Hermione gasped, "Snape — look." I grabbed the binoculars. Snape was in the middle of the stands opposite them. He had his eyes fixed on Harry and was muttering under his breath." He's doing something — jinxing the broom," said Hermione."What should we do?" I asked, "Leave it to me." Hermione replied. She took off and went under the stands. I followed and stopped her. "Your not getting rid of me that easily Granger." I said. She smiled "Alright. Now let's hurry up, I'm not sure how long Harry can hold on for." replied Hermione. I nodded in agreement as we took off to the Slytherin stands.

We eventually made our way to the Slytherin Stands, we began searching for Snape's boots. Eventually, I found him. His boots were stained with droplets of blood, I could see his bandages and his robes reeked of mould, it had to be him. I quietly ushered to Hermione that I found him. She carefully sneaked over, pulled out her wand and aimed it at Snape's robes."Lacarnum Inflamarae." I heard her whisper as a small flame shot out of her wand and caught fire to Snape's robes. Suddenly there was panic as Snape noticed the fire and gave a small yelp. In an attempt to put out the fire he knocked over some students, including Professor Quirrell. I looked up to see Harry, he had control of his broom. "Brilliant Hermione, now let's get out of here." I whispered. She nodded as we made our way back to the Gryffindor stands.

Before we made our way back to our seats, Hermione pulled on my robes, stopping me. I turned to her to see why she wanted my attention. She suddenly had the urge to once more fiddle with her hands and stare at the floor, she was nervous, to say the least. "I-I just want to s-say thanks (Y/N)..." she said in a bare whisper. I was confused. "But Hermione, that was all you, you saved Harry from certain death." I replied. She shook her head. "Not about that." She said, her feet began to shuffle a little. "About saving my life. Twice. I honestly don't know anyone who would have done that for me. " She caught her breath as her cheeks went a glowing red as tears began to swell. I moved in to give her a hug. She held on tightly. As she quietly cried into my shoulder. "Now now Granger, don't waste your tears on me. I'm more than happy to occasionally take a risk." I said soothing her worries. "However, twice a week is a bit too much for me, I may have to share the burden with Harry and Ron." I said with a sly smirk. I heard a short muffled chuckle. "Oh (Y/N), why do you have to joke at moments like these?" She said as she stood back and wiped the tears from her face. "Come on, let's join the others." I said as we turned around and made our way back to the seats. Ron made sure to compliment Hermione on how lucky she was to light Snape on fire claiming that it would be a "once in a lifetime chance. I laughed. Nevile looked a bit upset, he explained it to us that while everyone was distracted with Harry, Flint had snuck by and scored 5 quick goals, meaning that Slytherin was in the lead. "What a lousy git..." Ron said with disgust. Our attention was then drawn to Harry who nose-dived down, zooming behind the Slytherin seeker and was quickly gaining on him. The Slytherin seeker pulled out, both of them were getting close to the ground. Harry, speeding toward the ground when I saw him clap his hand to his mouth. He quickly halted himself and fell to the ground, he looked like he was going to be sick. He began to lurch, then I saw something fall into his hands. It had a glint of gold. It was the snitch. The whole oval (apart from Slytherin) erupted in a deafening roar. Harry Potter had *caught* the snitch. I soon joined Hermione and Ron in a group hug before Hagrid joined in too, giving us a bone-crushing hug and lifting us in the air. I could faintly hear Lee Jordan going crazy "HE'S GOT THE SNITCH! HarryPotter receives 150 points for catching the Snitch! HARRY POTTER RECEIVES 150 POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR. WOOOOOOOOO!" Madam Hooch blew her while, stating that Gryffindor had well and truly won.
