You really didn't want to go back to school the next day, but your parents insisted, saying that it was better for you to go, or you might miss something important. So, with reluctance, you made your way down to that god-awful building, and into your new classroom, sitting at the very back with no complaints.

However, you were instantly surprised when you saw the same boy from the day before walk through the door, with Chloé at his side. Everyone seemed to recognise him, and understandably so; he was a famous model.

You felt awkwardness well up inside you, as you recalled how you'd embarrassingly tried to defend him from people who weren't even threats. There was no way in hell you'd be able to talk to him now.

Unfortunately, he had different ideas.

When the boy stepped inside, he instantly saw you, and for some reason, his face lit up. Caught off guard by how nice his smile looked, you jolted, and then hesitantly waved at him.

He seemed even more happier at your half-assed greeting, and waved back with a grin, before sitting down in his seat at the front. You wrinkled your nose, curious as to how he'd managed to get in today.

But then you shook your head, and observed the drama from the back of the class, as the poor boy was accused of putting gum on someone's seat, when he'd tried to take it off.

(The gum had been courtesy of Chloé, of course.)

You frowned; you felt a bit sorry for him, he just couldn't seem to catch a break.

Well… what was said, was said, and what was done was done. It wasn’t your business, though, you felt your conscious nagging at you. Maybe it would be in your best interests to explain to those two what had really happened… it was more of an eyewitness account, so it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. You resolved to tell the girls after class had finished, not having the courage to speak to them in front of the rest of everybody.

Suddenly, you heard someone speak, from beside you, “Errr…” you glanced up nervously, to find a girl with black and purple hair, covering half her face, and an anxious expression. She mumbled something you didn’t quite understand, which caused you to freeze up awkwardly.

I’m… sorry? Could you repeat that please?...” you muttered, smiling in a strained fashion. She looked from left to right, seemingly stressed, before glancing down at the seat. From that gesture, you realised she wanted to sit there, and hastily pasted together a sloppy sentence in French, “You… can sit here, if you’d like.”

She was shocked at your recognition, but nevertheless smiled gratefully for a second, and nodded shyly, placing herself next to you. The girl held out her hand to you, stuttering, “I-I’m… Juleka. Nice to meet you.”

You blinked, trying to keep yourself from crying out of relief at finally knowing a classmate’s name; then took her hand and shook it shakily. “I’m (Y/n),” you offered, rubbing the back of your neck.

Juleka gave you a sheepish look, which you returned, before both of you sat in blissful silence, unaware that both of you were thinking the same thing: God I’m so happy that went smoothly!

Unfortunately, the class didn’t make it past roll call, because Stoneheart, as he called himself, turned up again, and took both Milene and Chloé prisoner, before breaking through the wall, and jumping out into the street with them. It happened so quickly you could barely process what the hell had even just transpired; all you really managed was to shrink under the desk with Juleka, and wait for the chaos to subside.
