After the ball, I looked up information about Violet Degrove so I would at least know what to expect from her.

Surprisingly enough, her reputation isn't favorable, more like the opposite. I would presume she would have some kinda honorable reputation since she is the only daughter of the Marquis Degrove.

At least, now I know why she doesn't have a favorable opinion towards me. She is only one year younger than Kai meaning there were childhood friends. There was an article that announce the possibility of Violet marrying Prince Kai but soon those rumors died since there weren't any pieces of evidence of them even dating.

Since I was searching for information about Violet Degrove I've stumbled into a rabbit hole reading about Prince Kai.

When becoming an adult Prince Kai had an infamous reputation. At one point he was banished from Nauloria Empire. The ban was only temporary, but then Prince Kai decided not to come back to Nauloria Empire and went missing for about twenty-five years until he was found and forced to come back. For the last hundred years, he stabilized his reputation.

Although Prince Kai is now my husband, I still don't know a lot of things about him. Considering the siren's life span six months of courting won't be enough to get to know his entire life story.

At some point, I've started feeling anxious if it's was a good idea for me to marry if I don't know a lot of things about him?

Well, it's too late to think about it since I already completed the blood bond ceremony.

I'm just glad that Kai continues to be a considerate partner.

"Your highness, can I ask you a favor?" Allen, the secretary and assistant of my husband, asked me. After hearing his voice, I was snapped from staring at the book while overthinking my marriage.

"A favor? Let's hear it but I won't promise anything." I said as I cast my eyes on the red-haired male. I closed the book that I wasn't focused on reading and started organizing the book before I put them back on their shelves.

"Lately Prince Kai is in the foul mood be-c." I interrupted Allen from speaking further.

"Isn't it because you've nagged to fill the paperwork during his free time?" I asked him. Lately, Kai's been busy that he couldn't join eating meals with me. He could only eat the meal in his office since his workload increased.

"That's because his workload increased because you had food poisoning when you both went on the business trip in Takino territory." He pointed out. I looked for few seconds at him and then I sighed.

"Fair enough."

Kai wanted me to go on the business trips with him since he wanted me to relax from the assignments and also to spend quality time as the couple, since he would often go on business/diplomatic trips. Then I got terrible food poisoning from the restaurant we were eating and instead of negotiating and doing checks ups, Kai spent taking care of me and investigating the cause of my food poisoning.

"Kai, I will be fine. You shouldn't go to those lengths to investigate the cause of the food poisoning, it's just a simple food poisoning after all." I tried to convince him while I was lying on the bed with a high fever.

"Evelyn, this is the restaurant that claims that they serve the best food in Takino territory. If they serve the best food, then they shouldn't be able to give food poisoning to the werewolf." Kai pointed out. Werewolves aren't susceptible to the diseases like humans and sirens but for me to get food poisoning raises suspicions about the restaurant's hygiene.

One might think that someone purposefully put wolfbane in my food. Though I would doubt someone would try to kill me with wolfsbane, since when I first ate the food, I noticed that the food was suspiciously greasy.
