An Unstoppable Dawn

22. Healing: Part Two

A week later

Me and Blue Eyes drove from the house to hunt in the ruin wilderness that was once a overpopulated city. With our firearms equipped and drinks to keep us hydrated, we were unstoppable against predators that were lurking in the unknown shadows. We went out to hunt for a while near the redwoods before we drove back into the city but we were far from Will's house.

It was the first time that Blue Eyes was in a car aside from his only known transportation being on horseback in his colony and he enjoyed it very much.

He was able to explore more of the world that was distant from his civilization and he adored it. The jokes we would make, the music we listened to, the goodies we ate. It felt like an everlasting dream to the prince. The thought of our moments paused in my mind as I parked the truck in front of a abandoned market.

"You think we should go in there?" Blue Eyes asked me but his gaze was stuck from the jilted property that had plants sprouting from its walls.

"Let's go check it out." I said. Blue Eyes passed me my firearm before we exited the vehicle and sauntered towards the store's closed doors. The both of us shared a shortened glance before we entered the market and it illustrated an apocalyptic vibe. Shopping carts standing in stillness, merchandises on the shelfs and floors, dead carcasses of animals and rust and plantation destroying the walls.

Me and Blue Eyes separated to venture around the soundless store except for a few birds chirping in the area. As I was placing some hygiene materials and food in a few of my bags, my eyes were secured with a poster of the city I dreamed of traveling to one day.

It was a picture of Los Angeles but I bet it doesn't look as magical as it was shown on the poster.

I saw Blue Eyes' shadow on the floor coming next to me as I glided my eyes on him.

"Ever dreamed of going there?" It was like he could scrutinize my mind very swiftly as I shook my head with a small smile and a chuckle.

"Always have. Maybe we can go there one day." I mesmerized, his eyes had trouble moving from off me.

"We'll go someday. I can make that happen." Blue Eyes cupped my chin with his finger with a blushing beam that made me feel like I was levitating. I walked up to the poster and ripped it from off the wall, shoving it in my bag before Blue Eyes wrapped his arm around my shoulders as we continued to proceed around the store. I sensed that Blue Eyes saw something as he walked the both of us over to one of the shelves, seeing a box as we approached it. I squinted my eyes on the tiny writing on the rectangular cardboard as Blue Eyes seized my attention with the feeling of his fingers running down my arm.

"I haven't seen condoms in a while." Blue Eyes signed as my eyebrows instantly flew up. I was surprised that he actually knew what they were and the concept of them. How does he know what condoms are? Has he seen one?

"Oh really?" I crossed my arms at him, one of my eyebrows was narrowed.

"I saw some in the woods about 2 years ago. Some humans must've had relations in the woods." He explained, my mind still puzzled at how he knew what they are.

"At least people were protecting themselves with those condoms." Blue Eyes continued as I stared at him.

"Hey uh, back at the house, I found some adult magazines. They were naked... and they were in weird positions." He signed with a portable smirk on the corner of his lips.

"What are you thinking about Blue?" I asked him as he gave me a dirty look which was too handsome.

"Maybe we could... try what they did in those magazines." He suggested.
