Chapter 13: Santo

Athena's pov

I make it home just in time for Bianca and Santo to arrive. "Boss you have two people claiming to have a meeting with you at 4 do I send them up?" One of my guards asked to hear his radio.

"Escort them to my office" He walks off going to do the job he was assigned to do. I might send an undercover to see what's going on with Reberto. I already went over the alliance with him and the paperwork was signed and confirmed.

His power isn't as great as mine but no power should be overlooked. Once your back is turned for a split second they choose to strike and usually where it hits the hardest. A knock on the door cuts my thinking short as I yell out to come in.

Bianca and Santo walk in with a nervous look plastered all over their faces. "Please come sit. Would you like anything to drink" I signal them to sit in the chairs.

Fear is evident all over their face as they take caution with everymove. "No thank you" They manage to squeak out before looking back down on the floor.

"Alright I'm going straight to it. I didn't attend the winter ball and many people were confused as to why but that's a topic for another day. Many of my people have told me that your family was in attendance. Your father is one of my allies. Everyone knows how loyal we are to our family. I mean without them what do we have? Your father has been sparking up in many conversations and not good ones. I think the ball hit the nail with many people. Why when he talks to you do you look at him with fear as if he's going to hit you or worse?" I bluntly say I have to get to the end of this today.

I gathered pictures from that night from hidden cameras and every single one of them showed every time he would talk to them they were parazleyed. "He just drank a bit more than usual and was making sure we were on our best behavior, '' Bianca shakly replies.

She's lying

"If you tell me everything I can help you I won't let anything happen to you I promise but I can't do anything without you telling me what's going on." Clearly something bad is going on in that household and their fear is their father finding out they spoke a word. "I can't say I promised I'm sorry. I have a patient waiting for me, may I be excused." She quickly says

"Of course I'll have someone escort you through the tunnels." I quickly tell Enzo to come to my office and he replies with almost there. He's going to want to know what's going on the second he steps in the door. Not even two seconds later he comes in talking about how I better have brought him a great christmas present but stops when he sees Bianca and Santo.

"What the fuck is going on?" He looks at me confused pointing out the situation. "I'll let you know another time but for right now she has a patient take her through the tunnels to make sure no one see's you guys. Santo stays, I still need to talk to you" I say and Enzo grabs her hand bringing her with him.

I sit in the chair next to Santo to make him more comfortable. He's only 16 at the end of the day. "Santo I promise you I'll figure all of this out just tell me what's going on. He won't be able to hurt you anymore." I try to say it as softly as I can not to scare him anymore that what he is.

"You promise?" He questions

"Santo you have my word" He hesitates to say anything I can tell from the way he's staring at his shoes and playing with his thumb. "I thought it was normal for him to be like this. He would get mad and yell at us even if we had asked him a question. It first started when I was 5. He said I'm already at the age where I don't need anyone to do anything for me. So that's why he stopped being a father and just became this monster. Bianca tried to take the punishment just for herself but he didn't care that he just hit ten times harder. Mom just sits there and watches it's like she has no soul, just a body that responds to his command. He drinks from the moment he wakes up to the moment he sleeps and puts on this act when anyone comes to the house. I'm so tired of it.
