it's been two weeks since i met clay.

he's been constantly coming to the diner with the excuse he was hungry or forgot something of his the day before, even if i caught him leaving his stuff on purpose.

"well if it isn't clay." i said jokingly as he walked into the diner.

"i forgot my glasses here yesterday."

"like you did the week before?" i tilted my head to the side.

he scoffed and rolled his eyes. "yes, exactly like the week before."

i giggled as we both walked to the table he was sat in yesterday to get the glasses he supposedly forgot.

clay looked around and sat down on the booth, acting like he was looking for the glasses.

i saw him reach for his pocket and pull out a pair of glasses. "ah, here they are."

i sat in the seat in front of him and looked at him. "do you come here just to see me?"

"what- no, why would i?" he scoffs and looks to the side with a blush on his cheeks.

"well, you only come here when it's my shift."

"no i don't, i come here even when you're not working."

"and my coworker told me you leave if i'm not working." i continued.

clay blushes even more. "just bring me some food please."

"yes sir." i nod and get up to go get him whatever he usually orders.

i hear him whisper something as i leave but pay no mind to it.

"usual for your boyfriend?" john calls from the kitchen.

"he isn't my boyfriend, but yes, the usual."

"that young man seems to like you, give him a chance." john pointed towards clay's direction while handing me his food.

"thanks for the food john." i yell out before going over to clay's table.

"stack of pancakes with a side of eggs?" he looks up at me.

"and a cup of chocolate milk." i nod as i put his food down in front of him.

i sit in front of him as he begins to eat. there wasn't anyone here yet so i took the chance to just sit back and relax.

"oh shit sorry," clay whispers at me. "i didn't even offer you some food."

"don't worry about it, i'm not hungry anyways." i smiled.

"oh really?" he raises a brow. "then why are you staring at my food like it's the best thing you've seen all day, besides me of course."

"first of all, don't get too cocky. second of all, i'm not staring at your food i'm just spacing out."

"well what did you have for breakfast then?"

i looked at him and watched him wait for an answer. "a granola bar."

he looks at me blankly before sliding the pancakes over to me. "eat as much as you'd like, we can share."

"it's your food, i don't want you to starve because of me." i shook my head before sliding the plate back to him.

"well, i'd like to order another stack of pancakes." he smiled cockily.

"bitch you're that hungry? okay." i began to get up but he stopped me.

"no- they're for you." he grabbed my wrist and spoke gently.

i blinked down at him. "well- i can't get you them then."

"you have to, you're my waitress after all."

"so i'm your waitress now, huh?" i smirked down at him.

he lets my wrist go and faces forward again. "just bring me the food."

"as you wish."

i walked into the kitchen to see john already waiting with a stack of pancakes in hand.

"i might've overheard."

i laughed a bit and took the pancakes. "thanks john."

"anything for the lovebirds."

i rolled my eyes at him jokingly before walking back to clay's table and setting the pancakes down in front of him.

"that was quick." he mumbled.

i sat in front of him and nodded. "john overheard our conversation and had the pancakes ready."

his head shot up "john?"

"yes, john. he's the chef here."

"oh well tell him thanks i guess." he mumbled the last part.

"are you jealous, clay?" i tilted my head to the side.

he slid the pancakes my way. "no."

"he's a fifty year old man with kids, relax." i giggled.

i saw his face fill with relief. "oh, good."

i look at him i'm confusion. "how is that good?"

"i don't know- means you're not into old men i guess."

"but i'm into you."

his eyes widen. "well i'm not old."

"you're just a stranger, could be a criminal from all i know."

"haha so funny." he narrows his eyes.

"or a stalker, that sounds about right."

he glares at me and shakes his head but he couldn't keep a smile from forming on his face.

i take my fork and began eating some of the pancakes clay had ordered.

"thought you didn't want pancakes?"

"well i cant let a good stack of pancakes go to waste, can i?"

"you're already wasting my money, oh lord." he jokes.

"i'm paying for these so im not wasting your money, yet."

he shakes his head no. "im paying for the pancakes."

"i work here, i can get these for free."

he was about to interfere but his phone vibrated, indicating he got a message. he grabbed his phone, checking the notification.

"shit i gotta go." he says as he puts his phone away.

"that's fine," i say as we both stand up. "i'll pay for the food don't worry."

"no i'll pay, may i get the bill?" he smiles.

i nod and grab his bill out of my note pad. "here you go."

i see him leave the money inside the wallet and place it on the table.

he kisses my cheek and waves. "see you later!"

i feel my cheeks heat up but wave back. "bye!"

i groan and cover my face with my hands to calm my blush down.

i get his bill and get the money out to put the money in the cash register. i counted the money and put it in the cash register but noticed there was some left over money.

it was a hundred dollar bill with a white paper that had 'so you can buy lunch next time :)' written on it.

i smiled to myself as i read that note. "that little bitch."

he was definitely going to change my life.
