Has nothing to do with this, but what was your first 5-star? Mine was Jean on Childe's first banner.

'We are a married couple. No, jokes aside, we are friends... I think?'

'You think?'

'Well yeah, I know him for maybe a week or something. I don't know if you can actually call that a proper friendship.', you shrug.

'The first option sounds more believable for some reason.'

'Nice joke. Like if anyone would be interested in a relationship with me. And if that was meant serious then your perception is '

'Never give up hope. Who knows what the future might hold for you.', Childe winks. 'Anyways, are you tired? It is rather late after all.'

You shake your head. 'Nah, I slept through almost the whole day. Not on purpose, but now I am fully awake. If you want to sleep though you can go. I am just going to stay up a bit longer.'

'I am not all that tired myself. Sooo, how about we talk some more? I would like to get to know you better.'

'Fine. Like I have something better to do.'

Childe smiles. 'Wanna have something to drink?'

'Sure. Surprise me with what.'

'I'll be back soon. Don't disappear in the meantime~' The Harbinger leaves the room in a strangely good mood.

'If Childe's eyes weren't so dead-looking, you could almost think that he is being honest...'

Five minutes later he comes back with a tray on which two cups and a teapot are. 'This is the tea Mister Zhongli gifted me today. I don't remember what the blend is called but it is probably an high-quality one.' He places tray on the table in front of you and pours you and himself some tea.

'Thank you very much! It smells great.' You take a sip of the hot beverage. 'The taste is a bit... unique but all in all quite pleasant.'

'What kind of drinks do you usually drink?'

'Well... I like (insert any drink that probably doesn't exist in Teyvat).'

'That sounds exotic. From where do you come from exactly?'

'From an archipelago far, far away.'

'How was life there?'

'Kinda peaceful.', you answers as quick as Childe poses his questions.

'Do you dislike a peaceful atmosphere or why did you leave your home?'

'Is this an interrogation or why do you throw one question after another at me?'

The Harbinger's smile is as sickening sweet as before. 'Just passing time until the poison takes effect. Maybe I am a bit curious, too.'

'Poison? Is that why he didn't drink anything yet?'

You take another sip of the tea, to Childe's surprise. 'You're willingly drinking more poison?'

You shrug. 'Eh, some more or less poison won't make a difference now. But I refuse to let this tea go to waste.'

At first, the male on the other side of the table appears to by taken aback by your answer but then he burst out into laughter. 'What a unexpected strange response... How refreshing. Or is this your way of telling me that you saw through my facade and understood that there is no poison in it?'

'Who knows. Does the tea itself numb your tongue like that?' You lightly bite on your tongue to check how much feeling is left in it. 'This sensation is fúcking strange. I can still move it, but it feels like dead meat...'

'No, that's an anesthetic. People use it for various operations in the mouth. I put it in there to make myself sound a bit more believable. Wasted effort considering the fact that you continue to drink while I explain this to you.'

'It's not going to kill me, right?'

'As long as you don't drink the whole teapot...'

Having finished your cup of tea you put it back on the table. 'See? You can't give me a proper reason not to drink this. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger after all.'

'I guess we can agree on that point, yes.'

Closing your eyes you smile calmly. 'I don't think that you're the type to use poison. To me you seem like someone who would kill me head on in a fight or something. Not the safest character trait, but stil somehow admirable. That's another reason why I was so relaxed.'

'Scarily precise. Not as bad in reading others as I thought at first.'

'I take that as a compliment.' You yawn. 'I thinks it's time to sleep. All this talking made me tired. Where am I supposed to sleep?'

'Follow me discreetly. We don't want the Balladeer to know that his victim is doing just fine and that they sided with another Harbinger, do we?'

You and Childe sneak around in Liyue Harbor without running into trouble. stopping in front of a normal-looking house you assume that that is the place where you will stay for the night.

The snezhnian diplomat takes a pair of keys out of his pocket and hands them over to you. 'Make sure not to loose them. These are my sparekeys.' With another key he opens the door to the house and waits for you to enter.

When you both have entered the house, Childe locks the door behind. You eye him mistrustful.

'You don't want to be ambushed while you sleep, right?'

'Ah right, of course.', you mumble.

Childe points at a room to your right. 'That's where you will sleep. And if you need anything, I am in the room at the end of the hallway.'

Nodding you wave the male goodbye and go to your room. The inside is, for what you assume is a simple guestroom, lavishly decorated. You fall down on the bed and close your eyes. 'Like one of these luxury hotels you see sometimes in the internet...'

Being overwhelmed by comfortable softness you quickly fall asleep.
