"keep an eye on her (y/n), I mean it" my mother said sternly as my sister and I walked down our front door steps. "yeah I will mom don't worry" I replied.

"bye mom" my sister called. "bye sweetie" my mother smiled. "bye" I added. "bye" she replied dryly. I frowned as she closed the door. "(y/s/n)"

"yeah?" she said tilting her head. "I don't think mom really likes me" I sighed sadly.

"don't be silly, of course she does" she said walking backwards in front of me before turning back around to run ahead towards the lake.

I slowly trudged after her, deep in thought, had I done something to make her act that way? I done everything I could to make her happy but it felt like it was never enough. she never treated (y/s/n) like that

by the time I had reached the lake (y/s/n) was no where in sight but her clothes were by the dock.

I looked around in confusion but was horrified when I spotted her out in the middle of the lake struggling and coughing to stay afloat

"(y/n)! he-help me!" she spluttered. my eyes widened as I ran towards the edge, I couldn't jump in to help because I couldn't swim

"swim over! c'mon!" I yelled desperately with my heart racing. she was hardly able to keep herself above the surface.

"I-I-I'm gonna go get help!" I cried running back towards our house in panic with tears in my eyes. "MOM! MOM! HELP! ANYONE! PLEASE HELP!"

multiple people came out of there houses including my mother. "what is it (y/n)?" my mother asked

"it's (y/s/n)!" I cried. she pushed past me, knocking me to the ground as she and other people ran down to the lake.

I scrambled to my feet and ran after them but it was too late, she wasn't there, a bunch of people jumped in to try find her.

"(Y/N)! WHERE IS SHE?! YOU WERE SUPOSED TO BE WATCHING HER!" my mother screamed, picking me up by the collar of my t-shirt and shook me violently.

"M-mom I'm so s-sorry" I sobbed

I jolted up in bed with a scream, sweating profusely. Levi sat up as well, looking at me in shock as I sobbed uncontrollably

"(y/n) it's okay, you're just dreaming" he said softly as he pulled me into his chest. "no, it's not a dream. it's my fault" I cried with tears streaming down my face.

I had never told anyone about what happened to my little sister, not even Levi because it was something I planned on taking to the grave with me

It was my fault, what would they all think of me if I told them I killed my little sister? I couldn't.

"what was your fault?" he asked, pulling away to look at me. "nothing" I said shaking my head and pushing him away to lay on my side, facing away from him
