JJ slipped on her black heels as she sat at the kitchen table waiting for Brian to pick her up. Today was the day of his friends wedding and while a part of her was wishing she could just stay home and watch tv she knew she had to be there for Brian. He was there for her at the FDNY banquet and it was time for her to return the favor. She did a quick check in her hallway mirror, flattening out her dark blue sundress and adjusting her wavy hair over her shoulders. Just as she walked back towards the kitchen the front door swung open and in walked Brian. His eyes immediately found her and as soon as he saw her his heart fluttered a little bit.

"Hey gorgeous." He smiled, placing a friendly kiss to her cheek. "Looking beautiful as always."

"Thanks. You clean up pretty nice too." She smirked, scanning over his suit.

He wore a simple white dress shirt, black jacket, and black pants but skipped a tie and the first couple of buttons. Typical Brian. He had this bad boy look that JJ found surprisingly sexy and caught herself biting her bottom lip at the sight.

Oh shit.

"You ready to go?" Brian asked, gesturing towards the front door.

"Yup. Let's go get drunk." She joked making him laugh.

As they walked out to his Jeep JJ could feel herself start to build an internal panic. When she heard his laugh a minute earlier she felt butterflies in her stomach. When she saw how he looked she described him as sexy. Two things that had never happened during their entire friendship.

This can't be happening to me.

After handing over the car to the valet, JJ and Brian walked up to the front door of overly extravagant and expensive wedding venue.

"If I ever get married it will never be at a place like this." JJ commented, scanning over the bright crystal chandeliers that hung above them.

"Really?" Brian questioned, looking over at her.

Almost every girl he ever knew wanted a huge over the top wedding like this. Although he knew he shouldn't have been surprised. JJ was nothing like any other girl. Which is exactly why he was falling in love with her.

"Yeah. I'd want something simple, y'know? Just a few friends, somewhere simple and quiet. Outside probably." She shrugged. Brian smiled brightly down at her knowing if he was ever to get married that he'd want the exact same thing. "What?" She giggled when she noticed him smirk on at her.

"Every time you talk you make it more and more clear as to why you're my best friend." He told her. "Because what you just described is exactly what I'd want."

Just as JJ was about to open her mouth and respond to him a booming voice called Brian's name from across the ballroom. She was guessing this was his old college friend.

"Holy shit, Brian Quinn!" The man exclaimed, coming over and giving Brian a hug. "How you been, man? I'm so glad you made it."

"I wouldn't miss it, buddy." Brian laughed. "And I've been doing pretty good. Work is good, family is good; couldn't ask for anything more."

Except to be with JJ in more than a best friend type of way. But I'll keep that to myself.

"Glad to hear it." The guy said before turning and smiling at JJ. "Is this your wife?"

"Oh n-"

"Yes, yes I am. Hi I'm JJ." She smiled, reaching her hand out to shake his.

Brian looked at her completely confused wondering why she was telling him that she was his wife.
