The meeting went well, Tony and Bruce managed to trace one of the Exonerator's facilities and discovered the names of some of their higher up operatives, the first mission will be soon. It's been a while since you have trained, it would probably be a good idea to train and practise using your elements.

You change into some fire resistant workout gear and head to the training room. You start off by practising your fire abilities, the one you have always found the most challenging. Mother always said, "Channel your rage and direct the flame." Your source of power is rage for them leaving you alone on Earth as a child. But now the rage is dying out and you're losing control of it. Being the protector of Earth is hard when there's no one around that has the same abilities. Wanda has tried, but she doesn't know how to help because her powers self-actualised.

You go into the fire resistant room and start practising your techniques. You used to be able to direct flames the size of this room with precision, taking out enemies in a split second. Now the biggest flame you can direct is enough to burn one person.

"Ugh, come on!" you shout, frustrated at the small flames you're producing.

Loki POV:

I was told by Wanda to go to the training room to practise my hand to hand combat with some of Stark's robots. But, now that I'm here I think she sent me for a different reason. I look through the glass into where Y/N is training. She seems to be struggling with her fire abilities. My mother often told me tales of great elementals, maybe I could help her.

"Lady Y/N if I'm not intruding might I just suggest, you aren't going to get anywhere by shouting in rage" I say with caution as I enter the room."

Regular POV:

"No, that's exactly how I'll get there if I could just- CHANNEL IT, UGH!" you snap in anger. "What would you know about elemental control anyway."

"More than you might think, my mother loved telling me about elementals. Your abilities are unique, and they certainly aren't born out of rage. Trust me, I have being using magic for long enough to know that nothing good comes of rage." Loki says calmly.

Well this is new, Loki being nice? You didn't think that was in his range of abilities. "Well then how the hell do I direct the fire without rage. Somehow I don't think that imagining puppies and rainbows is going to help."

"No, you're quite right there," Loki chuckles. "Think of it this way, your abilities is controlling the elements, so instead of trying to direct the flame and letting it control you, take control of it. And instead of channeling rage, try to channel passion, dominance, strength. Control the fire."

You close your eyes, take a deep breath. Strength. You shoot a fire blast which scorches the entire wall in front of you. You haven't been able to shoot a blast like that in 5 years. You turn back to Loki, who has returned to his usual stone-faced expression.

"Loki thank you, truly. I learned more from you in 10 minutes than I have in the past year in this tower." you say sincerely.

He simply nods before turning to go back to the combat room.

You follow him out, "Wait." If you need a training partner, I'm sure I'll be more of a challenge then the robots." you suggest, catching back up to him.

"I thought you'd never ask" he says in a low smooth voice. Gods if he knew what that voice does to you.

You both step into the area and pick you choice of weapon. Loki of course picked a pair of small daggers, and you went for an arming sword.
