53. Placing Chu Xiao Under Surveillance

"Boss, where are we going?"

"Mid-Levels Villa Estate."

It was said to be the safest housing estate in Xining District, and Chu Xiao's main residence was located there.

Ling Fan had been wondering how Luo Li, who was just a high school teacher on the surface, had hooked up with Chu Xiao and known so clearly about Xiao's whereabouts. He had even managed to get a map showing the locations of all surveillance cameras and security personnel in Chu Xiao's casino.

It took Ling Fan a month to find out the answer.

Chu Xiao had a subordinate whose name was Wei Dong.

To be precise, Wei Dong was a technician working under Rong Hua. He was Luo Li's former classmate and had loved Luo Li at a distance since high school.

Ling Fan sent Wei Dong an email in the name of Luo Li, and the next day Wei Dong replied with a message including Chu Xiao's residential address and the passwords of the intelligent security gate of the housing estate.

With the password Ling Fan and Lei Wu easily got into the housing estate which was said to be safe and secure.

"Ding-dong," went the doorbell.

"Who is it? It's late at night," said an occupant of a villa.

"Sir, your take-out has arrived."

"Wait a moment." The occupant glanced at his monitor's screen and saw a young man wearing a hat with a name of a food delivery company on it. Without thinking, he opened the door.

"Ah! Who are you? You'd better get out of my house, or I'll call the police. Help! Some bad guys broke into my house... Hmm..."

The occupant was a fat man with a large head and big ears. Ling Fan patted him on the cheek and said leisurely, "Stop shouting and listen! We are not here to rob or kidnap you. I just want to hire your villa. Nothing will happen to you as long as you behave yourself."

"Hmm... Hmm..."

"You agree, right? Haha, a wise choice.  Wuzi, let's go upstairs."

"What are you going to do with this guy, Boss?"

"Tie him up first, and then knock him out. As for that woman who has been scared into unconsciousness, make sure she won't wake up for the time being." With that, Ling Fan went straight up to the third floor.

This house was not owned by Chu Xiao. It was right across from Chu Xiao's villa.

Standing by the window on the third floor, Ling Fan could easily see the full extent of Chu Xiao's villa. He noticed the light spilling from a window of the opposite villa. For some unknown reason, his thoughts started to wander.

After finishing the task given by Ling Fan, Lei Wu took off his mask and came upstairs.

"I've got them tied up. Here's your telescope, Boss." Lei Wu took out a pair of binoculars from his backpack and handed them to Ling Fan.

He finally understood why Ling Fan had asked him to prepare two pairs of binoculars.

He had thought that it was dangerous to slip into Mid-Levels Villa Estate to spy on Chu Xiao, but now he had to admit that Ling Fan made such a decision after careful consideration.

Through the binoculars Ling Fan could see clearly what was happening in the opposite villa.

To his surprise, there was only Chu Xiao in the villa.

He had thought that he would see some other people in Chu Xiao's villa. After all, rumour had it that Chu Xiao kept many lovers in his house.

However, there was nobody else in it. The villa was clean and tidy, with no signs that other people lived there.

Ling Fan lapsed into silence. Lei Wu asked, "Have you found Chu Xiao, Boss?"

"Yes. He's in the second room from the right on the second floor."

"Oh, I see him. He's in the bathroom?!"

"Yeah," replied Ling Fan. Suddenly, he froze.

He said to Lei Wu, "Close your eyes."

"Ah?"

Ling Fan had no intention of explaining to Lei Wu. He reached out a hand and snatched the binoculars from Lei Wu.

It took Lei Wu about a minute to realize what was happening.

'Er, Chu Xiao is taking a shower... But Boss, why are you still looking at him? We are all men. It doesn't matter even if he undresses and takes a shower in front of me...' Lei Wu thought to himself.
