Chapter 39: Off to Nighteye's Agency

A newspaper office, Juko News is trying to tell a story about All Might's retirement but the Editor-in-Chief wants a scoop since they are the last to write about the subject with regard to competition.

"How about the swordsman kid in UA?"

"We're not allowed to write a story about those demons since the kid doesn't want to."

"Aw man, that will probably be a good scoop."

 The Freelance Journalist, Taneo, arrives to help turn it into a good story.

Analyzing the message of All Might after his fight against All for One, he thinks that it is not a warning to other villains, as everyone believes. He believes that All Might's last words are actually a message towards a student of the U.A. which he has chosen as his successor, telling him that it's his turn to take up his mantle.

"A newspaper?!"

"Yeah. A newspaper wants to do a feature on you all." Aizawa told his students. 

"Isn't that amazing, Deku?" Uraraka asked, walking close to Midoriya making him flusttered.

 Aizawa explains to his students that the principal granted permission for the interview thinking it would be good for their parents and guardians to see them all living happily in the dorms. 

"I wonder if the reporter will be a woman. If you think about it, announcer sounds like bouncer, which sounds like bouncy boo-" Aizawa restrained Mineta using his cloth scarf.

"You better not do anything like that."

"You don't have to be like that, Mr. Aizawa. I want to report on the UA students in their natural state in the dorms." Taneo introduces himself and tells them that he will basically take some photos of the students daily life at school.

Until he notice one of the student isn't present. "Aren't their suppose to be 21 students?"

"Here." Y/n approaches them, half sleep, while rubbing his arm. 

"You don't have to do anything special. Please just show the camera how you normally live. So, I'll be counting on you then." Taneo smiled.

"Iida, if there's a problem let me know immediately. Got it?" Aizawa said. 

"Yes, sir! As the class representative for Class 1-A, I, Iida Tenya, will carry out my duty-"

"Okay, then, um... What would you usually be doing now?" 

"Having breakfast!" 

"You don't have to be so nervous. Just pretend I'm not here.."

Aizawa notices he might be up to something but allows him to continue anyway. Taneo the begun recording Class 1-A's daily lives and reviews their Quirks and Y/n's swordsmanship.

After he's finished, he narrows down the possible candidates for All Might's successor.

'Bakugou Katsuki's abilities are on par with those of pro heroes, but in middle school, he declared that he would surpass All Might, so it's hard to imagine him as All Might's successor.'

'The runner-up at the sports festival, Todoroki Shoto, can also be eliminated. After all, his father is the number two hero, Endeavor. It's hard to think he would let his son be All Might's successor.'

'The only ones left then are Tokoyami Fumikage or Iida Tenya, or Kirishima Eijiro...'

Taneo watched as Y/n talking to Koda for a while before he leaves the dorm and went to Izuku who was training on his own. They started some friendly sparring match.
