Third Person POV

The four of them went to the coffee shop and sat down at Zoë and Grover's table. "What can I get for you today?" the waitress asked cheerfully.

"I'll have hot chocolate mixed with the vanilla cappuccino and a coffee cake." the legacy of wine and madness said.

"Hot chocolate and one piece of strawberry shortcake and one piece of lemon cake." Luna said, the faraway look in her eyes fully back again.

"Coffee for me and Phoebe." Zoë said, pointing to her and Phoebe.

"Okay, and you miss?" the waitress said.

Grover put in his order-hot chocolate- and the waitress left saying she would be back in a few minutes.

"Okay, Elektra can pay for the taxi out of here." Zoë agreed. But she gave Jada an odd look after being told that Elektra thought that spending two hundred dollars per cab ride for the cab was not a lot of money.

Once they where outside, suddenly, a warm breeze rustled past, like a gust of springtime had gotten lost in the middle of winter.

Fresh air seasoned with wildflowers and sunshine. And something else – almost like a voice, trying to say something.

A warning.

Zoë gasped. "Grover, thy cup."

Grover dropped his hot chocolate cup, which was decorated with pictures of birds.

Suddenly, the birds peeled off the cup and flew away – a flock of tiny doves. The rubber rat squeaked and scampered off the railing and into the trees – real fur, real whiskers.

Grover collapsed next to his hot chocolate, which steamed against the snow. They gathered around him and attempted to wake him up. He groaned, his eyes fluttering.

"What's wrong with Grover?!" Luna said, trying to wake him up.

"We felt a god's power Luna," Jada said, having been around multiple immortal relatives who came to her to vent. "It was aimed towards Grover. I don't think it was malevolent or trying to harm him though."

"Uuuuuhhhh," Grover groaned.

"Well, get him up!" Zoë said. She looked behind her as if she were being followed. "We have to get out of here."

The legacy of the moon cast the Levitation Charm with Luna's help to make Grover float after them while the ran to the edge other town to wait for the cabs.

They made it to the edge of the town before the first two skeletons appeared. They stepped from the trees on either side of the road, wearing blue New Mexico State Police uniforms over their transparent grey skin and yellow eyes.

They all grew their weapons, Jada pulling out her bow blade into its sword form, Luna, Phoebe, and Zoë pulling out their bows.

They started to – but then the branches began to rustle. Two more skeletons appeared on the road behind them. They were surrounded.

"I will take the Skeleton Warriors, Phoebe and Zoë you kill the ones with the guns, and Luna, just watch over Grover and fire some arrows when it's needed." the legacy of magic said, putting her leaderships skills to work.

One of the skeletons raised a cell phone to his mouth and spoke into it, but there were no words. He made a clattering, clicking sound, like dry teeth on bone.

They had split up to find them. Now, they were calling their brethren.

"It's near," Grover moaned.

"It's here," Phoebe pointed out.

"No," Grover insisted dazedly. "The gift. The gift from the Wild."

"We'll have to go one-on-one," Phoebe said. "Four of them. Four of us. Maybe they'll ignore Grover that way."

"Agreed," said Zoë.

"The Wild!" Grover moaned before Luna knocked him into unconsciousness.

They mean to fight for a while until Jada stabbed one with her daggers causing it to go up in flames. The legacy of love slammed her foot onto the ground and burned the remaining skeletons with fire.

Grover woke up which canceled the Levitation Charm, making him fall onto the side walk. "Ouch!"

"No time to wait, run!" Phoebe yelled, grabbing Luna and Zoë's hands and proceeding to take off running, with the other three on the hunters heels.

They then ran for the edge of the town when the cabs arrived and split up in groups of three, campers in one cab and hunters in the other.

The legacy of wisdom told the cab drivers if they got them out of the mountains and as far as they would go she would pay them another one hundred dollars.

They got out of the mountains in 45 minutes and Jada pay the money as she had promised.

Before them was a two-lane road half covered with sand.

On the other side of the road was a cluster of buildings too small to be a town: a boarded-up house, a taco shop that looked like it hadn't been open in years, and a white stucco post office with a sign that said Gila Claw, Arizona hanging crooked above the door.

Beyond that was arrange of hills...but they were no ordinary hills. The hills were enormous mounds of old cars, appliances, and other scrap metal. It was a junkyard that seemed to go on forever.

"Whoa." Luna said, and the others had to agree; none of them had seen a junk yard this big before.

"Something tells me we're not going to find a car rental here," Phoebe said.

"Something's not right here," Grover said. "Our next challenge..."

He pointed towards the junkyard. With the sunlight almost gone now, the hills of metal looked like something on an alien planet.

That's today's chapter, I hope you have enjoyed it.
