Squid Game - A guards POV

Chapter 5: Red Light, Green Light.

Before I begin chapter 5 I am so grateful for over 100 reads, I searched for good squid game stories and never found a guards POV, so if you take this idea please credit me! :)

I heard the woman's voice once more saying we had 1:00 minute left, my heart was racing, the 1 minute was soon over and the players where on a line. I led them to a place that looked like a school yard, a tall creature was at the end facing a tree.

The guards split up and I had to walk by this thing, I looked up to my left then right and saw guns pointing out of the walls, I knew what was gonna happen and I couldn't even stop it.

"Welcome Players to your first game!, this game is called Red Light, Green Light, This game is very simple, when "IT" says green light you must go across the arena to the end, but if "IT" says red light you must stay as still as possible until "IT" says you can go."

I understood what the game was about, but I knew if people failed what would happen. I stood in silence listening to what the recording was saying once more.

"If movement is detected after "IT" has said red light, you will be eliminated, let the game begin!"

"Green light!"

All the players walked across the arena, I was watching tensing up, there was 200 players, I watched the head turn.

"Red light!"

I panicked watching every player when she said this, a player had fallen over, another was pushed, another tripped.

BANG, BANG, BANG

I stood there shaking watching them get shot one by one, I was traumatised.

"Player 20 eliminated, player 56 eliminated, player 89 eliminated"

I was panicked, tears came rolling down my eyes as I watched them all fall to there death, more players died of trying to run away, some was so determined to make it past the line. I turned my head looking at one of the players, number 29, like me, tears dropped out of my mask and hit my red suit making wet marks.

The player noticed this and stared, I turned my head back to watch and looked at the time, 30 seconds left. I took a deep breath as the timer went down, the timer had finished and the last few that was in the back was eliminated.

I took the players back and went to the girls toilets and breathed heavily, I took the mask off and looked in the mirror face covered in tears, I put the mask back on and went back to our rooms to go to bed. We did something called a head count and went into our rooms, I got changed and got food after I had eaten we had "bed time" before sleeping we heard the recording one more time.

"Well done workers, enjoy your sleep"
