Winner, winner chicken dinner!! This is my Author’s Note: *wave* Heyo! Draco_Lana got it right! Woo! I’m 14, but turning 15 in April. I seem 16? Really? In truth, I plan to write all of my story ideas eventually. It’s just a matter of when I write them *awkward laugh* I know what one I’m starting with though if that helps. I’m going to write #4 first (guy-to-girl then he falls for Draco) because a lot of you say you don’t like boyxboy, and I figured that that story isn’t technically a boyxboy. After that though I will probably write them in number order from 1-to-3.

(EDIT 10/20/13: Forever laughing because none of my story ideas got written. That and I was fucking weird when I was 14.)

I Was Dared to Love You (A Draco Malfoy Love Story)

Chapter 15: It Was All a Dare

-Part 1-: What I Fear Most

---------| Draco’s POV |---------

I subconsciously straightened my tie and buttoned, unbuttoned, and then rebuttoned the black plastic on my tux. I’d been like this all day. Nervous, pacing, jittery. What the bloody hell! Whenever I had taken Parkinson to dances, I had never felt so bloody antsy. She was just a cover-up date. Someone who made me look like I got it every night, when in reality, her body was about as appealing as a pug dog. And damn I never had liked those muggle pets in the least. Tonight though, I couldn’t keep still. There was no logical reason for my jitters, either. No reason for me to comb my hair a thousand times with my fingers as I paced. Or why I had taken three good bloody hours making sure I didn’t have body odor, that my tie matched, or practicing walking to make sure I wouldn’t trip. In the end I had taken two long showers, washed my hair and body too many times to count, tried on seven of basically the same tie, and paced back and forth until I felt dizzy.

            I had felt bloody stupid.

By then I was at the base of the staircase outside of the Great Hall, waiting for Violet. The room was crowded with each House, everyone either was with their date or waiting nervously for their date. I began pacing again and people stared at me as if I had a second butt. I growled internally but continued to pace.

As I was beginning back towards the staircase, a voice sounded to my left, “Draco.” I ceased to pace and started when I saw who it was. I stared for a moment and then the person began to speak again, “Hurt her and I’ll hex you into oblivion.” With that the person skipped over to their date.

----------| Violet’s POV |------------

“Ow!” I complained as Hermione shoved a bobby pin in my up-do. She’d been at it for about an hour now. I had suggested using a spell to make it simpler—and less painful—so that she wouldn’t have to worry so much. She claimed it didn’t look the same. All the imperfections, she said, were what made it look absolutely perfect.

What a load. She just wanted me to squirm.

I had my dress on already, and with my free hand I smoothed the small wrinkles. Malfoy had figured I had bought the neon orange dress. I had liked that one a ton, and I mean like seven elephants ton. But I swear something was up when he kept staring at my butt.

Ginny grabbed the pale white sash and gently tightened it into a floppy bow behind me. They had been ready for about two hours and I still had yet to decide on what shoes to wear. Next to them, I looked plain just like that girl, Jane? Plain Jane? Sighing, I looked at what they were both wearing.

Hermione’s dress was from her parents in the muggle world. It seemed as if it were made specifically for her. The pale pink faded into white and the neck had a V line. It was knee length and just screamed that her father sure as hell didn’t pick it out. Her flats were white with a lacy design and her hair was in a complete up-do, with a few perfect imperfections to make it shine. Add a tad of make-up and she looked like an angel.

Ginny on the other hand, had natural colored make-up on and the only thing she did with her hair was take her bangs and clip them to the side. The green barrette matched the color of her green and turquoise patterned dress that stopped about mid-thigh. The dress had been made surprisingly by her mother even though it looked nothing like those hideous, er, I mean lovely sweaters I got over the years. The high heels she had bought were straight black and were just right for the dress and made her slightly tower over us. Poor Harry is going to have a heart attack.

Ginny commanded me to close my eyes so she could put on some more make-up and I obeyed. It felt better to sit there and close my eyes for a moment. Gathering a bit of courage and I ask the question that I feared the answer to, “Do you think he’s going to like it?”

“Like it? Like it? He’s going to drowned himself in his own drool, Vi! Trust me, he’s going to love it,” Hermione sputtered out with a laugh. I giggled along with her light joke.

“There, finished!” Ginny stated, closing the blush container with a click. Sighing, I walked over to the mirror. Just as I saw my toe in the reflection, I was grabbed around the waist and dragged out of the room. “Oh, no you don’t!! It’s gotta be a surprise.”

“Gin, I wanna see what I look like at least!” Hermione came over and helped Ginny drag me out of the room and then the common room. We got a few stares counting on the fact that I was A: yelling complaints and a few cusses, B: I was bare foot in a beautiful dress, and C: Hermione and Ginny were laughing their full heads off. Everyone around us was dressing and fixing make-up but soon stopped staring in order to finish. I flipped them the bird as we passed and they didn’t seem too surprised.

“We’ll walk to the stairs with you, promise!” Hermione stage whispered as we walked by a few First Years. The boys ogled my breasts, Ginny’s butt, and Hermione’s legs. Wiggling my fingers at them, they scurried to their pissed off dates. Sighing, I think of First Year. Subconsciously I rubbed my stomach where my scar was.

“Are you even watching where you’re going, Vi?” Ginny asked as I almost walked around the corner to the stairs without them.

Grinning sheepishly, “No, I zoned out.”

“Jeez. Okay, on the count of three, alright?” Hermione easily stated with an undercurrent of something devious.

“One,” Ginny started, putting on a large smile.

“Two,” Hermione continued while fixing the front of her dress for the thousandth time that night.

“Thre—whoa!” They had shoved me out and around the corner, alone.

---------| Draco’s POV |-----------

Where the hell was she? She was, I glanced at the clock, three minutes late! Jesperson if you don’t get your dress clad ass down here I’ll—

Holy Merlin, she bought the silver dress. I couldn’t help the goofy grin from plastering itself on my face. I watched as she blushed up to her roots. Behind her came her Granger and Weasley, grinning like accomplished idiots.

Jesperson started to walk down the stairs and that’s when I noticed:

            She wasn’t wearing shoes.
