This is the special chapter of Holding Hands. Thank you for reaching this part!

Sunghoon's.

To the star of my youth and to the love that lasts, thank you for staying with me.

I read that in a diary of my mother, also in my father's postcard. And I grew up thinking love is like that. That when it stays, when it lasts, when it is not shallow, when it feels heartwarming, and when it feels like youth, over and over again.. Then it is love.

But as I grew older, I realized love is deeper. It has a deeper meaning, even more than the word itself.

"Sunghoon!" I heard Sooyoung call me with a bright smile painted on her face.

"You want to go to the arcade?" She asked. I nodded and we made our way to the mall. Before entering, we ate some food. While she was eating, I saw how her hair kept on falling and blocking her eyes.

"Your hair is literally eating your food." I said while she chuckled and looked at her wrist. She realized she forgot to bring her hairtie.

"Here." I gave her a hairtie. I noticed how she always loses her hairtie so I bought a stock of hairties. I bought it in different colors so it can always match her outfit.

After eating, we went to the arcade. We played the race car driving game. She won, and was so happy about it because she really loves driving. She said driving makes her feel happy and relaxed. "I got my license last week and I think I've been improving!" She said excitingly.

"Wow, it's been so long since we last went here. Oh.. and this is our last date as highschoolers too. Because college stars next week." She chuckled. It really has been that long. Time flies too quick.

"You want to come with me tomorrow?" She asked. I looked at her with a suspicious look which made us laugh.

"Where?" I raised a brow so she chuckled lightly.

"To my grandparents' house. We're going to celebrate. You can come if you want! Grandfather's birthday. I will visit too.. because my university is a bit far, in another city." She said.

"I'll come, love." I smiled. I actually have some papers to do for my college. I'll do those later at midnight so I can attend Sooyoung's family celebration.

"Sooyoung," she looked at me. "Open your phone. I sent you something just now." I said. She opened her phone and played wbat I sent her. It's a song recording of a warm toned song.

"Wow, Hoon... I wasn't informed you had such a nice voice." She chuckled.

"Really? I didn't sing much." I laughed.

"Thank you for this."

"Always welcome, love."

My love for her is not like a polaroid. Because it does not fade. But we do keep our memories in one, so I gifted her with a Polaroid Camera and a mini boquet of roses.

4 years.

Flash.

She took a picture, using the camera.

"Congratulations, Baby! You deserve it."

Still her after 4 years. We kept the promise to focus on our ambitions first. We graduated, and now we have stable jobs. Did I expect this? Yes. Because we did not rush.

Eun Sooyoung is a calm and gentle love personified. Even her promises know how to assure. She is as warm as summer and as cheerful as spring. And she makes me feel like I run through a flower field of joy. Over and over again. Again.. and Again. Everytime. In every moment.

My heart is beating fast. You are always shining in my eyes.

A/N:

For readers,

Thanks for bearing with the cringe. (Yes, and for the random updates too). Slightly boring message but here, you got a note.

In all seriousness, I acknowledge the imperfections and flaws this story has, but I hope it somehow conveyed the message I tried to put in it. This SC is intended to express my gratefulness to the readers. It's meant to thank you, if you are one of those who smiled and cringed while reading my story. I am very grateful for that. ♡

I made this special chapter with the hopes of making someone smile, too.

Take care and stay healthy! Rest well too, because you've fought well. Give love and light to others.

- Love, Yla

Also, to the person who taught me how to always smile, thank you. I hope you enjoy your day up there.
