Texting the Avengers

Part 15

Cooper's POV : 

"Okay, in between food and phone bills, summer school bills, and all the first aid supplies I've bought, I'm broke." I told Jamie.

She was at my hotel room helping me clean the place. She brought supplies from her house, and we were now sitting on my desk going through my money books.  I recorded every dollar I made, every penny I spent, every item I bought in these notebooks. 

"And it comes out to a total of 15.23$." Jamie laughed. "Not completely broke." 

"Okay, now I just need total up some food bills and we'll be done." 

Jamie and I kept calculating. Jamie was clearly confused about something on the sheet. "What is it?" I asked. 

"They've been docking your pay, that's why you're so broke this month." 

"What? Why would they dock my pay?" I pulled out my phone. "I'm texting Alice." 

Alice was my boss, and she was a pretty reasonably person. I thought she'd at least tell me if they were docking my pay but apparently not. 

Cooper : Hey, why are you docking my pay?

Alice : So you found out about it. 

Cooper : Why wasn't I informed?

Alice : The company was hoping we could get away with it. I swear I wanted to tell you guys, and I'm sorry.

Cooper : So this is happening to all of us? Why?

Alice : Everyone on the bottom level, yeah. 

Alice : You know about the expansion right?

Cooper : yeah, they're building a new Tech Town across town 

Alice : well apparently we don't have enough money to build it, so they need extra, docking your pay is the way to go. I'm sorry

Cooper : Will it ever be restored?

Alice : Not until construction is complete, so at least another year.

Cooper : well, thanks 

Alice : Have a nice day. 

Cooper : You too. 

"Apparently they need our pay money for their new location they're opening." 

"Is there anything you can do about it?" She asked. 

"Nope." I sighed. This fuckin sucked but there was nothing I could do. I'm not getting another job. Luckily for me Tech Town doesn't require any parental signatures, because if I need one I'm screwed. 

Those assholes...

That night I didn't do much. I walked Jamie home and relaxed on my bed after a short patrol. Crime rates had dropped 12% since I started this. 

I saw a notification on my phone and opened the group chat. 

Main Group Chat 

Mr. Katniss : Hey guys I'll be back at the tower at 11 pm k? 

Mr. Fossil : Katniss... 

Mr. Katniss : what?

Mr. Katniss: Shit

Mr. Fossil : Clint you idiot. 

Mr. Fossil : shit 

Red : LangAuGe

Speedy : ^

C : ^^ 

Mr. Ego : Great, and c already saw this

C : saw what? Whatchya hidin?

Mr. Ego : hiding?

Mr. Ego : we're not hiding anythings

C : sure thing 

C : Tony 

Mr. Ego : WTF
