themes: love, growth, self-expression
last year we used stiffened words
the words a formality you taught to me
we used words to sing and to dance
we used words to fight and to cry
we used words to yearn and to love
we used words to lose and to grieve
this year you learn words from my tongue
as my kiss floods the love in your soul
but when we lay here hearts wide open
i find no words to roll off my lips
there is nothing that can describe this
the way we taught each other to love
our words burn deep in the fire we built
drowning in the waters we created in us
all i can express is the sinking of the earth
when the air dances around our new home
