After class was over Florence went to her locker which wasn't too far from Ginnys. She had already gotten some of the books she needed for class which were going right into her locker. When Florence turned her head, she saw her sister with a boy whose hair was slick back, he looked like trouble. Though maybe she shouldn't be talking.

"Sorry about Marcus. He's an asshole." Max had walked up to Ginny making Marcus walk away.

Ginny agreed with her. "Yeah, total asshole."

Max leaned on the locker. "Yeah. He's my twin brother." Ginny went straight to apologizing but Max quickly stopped her. Glancing across the halls, Max saw Florence at her locker. "That other new girl, you two know each other or something?"

Ginny closed her locker and looked over at where Max was looking. "Yeah, Florence, she's my sister."

Max's mouth dropped at those words. "Wow, really? Well if you two have nowhere else to be then follow me." She then started walking towards Florence with Ginny beside her. Max stopped right in front of Florence with a smile. "Hi, come with us."

Florence closed her locker, looking at Ginny confused but nonetheless she went along with it. "I have a feeling you're very straight forward."

Max smiled that Florence had pointed that out about her. "Yes" She nodded her head, "So, where are you from?"

"Texas." Ginny answered.

Max continued walking down the school halls. "Texas. That's so exotic."

"I'm grew up in Italy." Florence told Max, who was about the same height as her.

"Italy, that's so romantic. I can just tell that you have a big soft romantic side, don't you?" Max started to talk a little about Italy and the accents.

Florence tilted her head, thinking about it. "I mean, doesn't everyone?"

"No" Max quickly said while she continued to walk down the halls, leading them elsewhere. "Now are you straight?"

"What?" Ginny asked.

Florence chuckled to herself, if she was drinking right there she probably would have choked.

"Gay, straight, them, they? Do they even let you be gay in Texas?" Max continued rambling on, actually wondering how gay is in Texas.

"Um, I'm straight." Ginny answered while walking behind Max.

"Ugh! That's such a bummer. There are no good gays here." Maxine was disappointed, now she couldn't have a gay best friend. "There is one here, Esme but she can be really mean and I just can't deal with all that. Plus she's my friend's older sister."

Florence finally let some words out now. "She/her and one hundred percent gay."

Maxine turned around and grabbed Florence's hands. "Oh my god, now we have one good gay here now. I can already tell we're going to be good friends."

"Two good gays actually." Florence corrected her while pointing to herself and to Max. "Me and you, equals two."

Max caught on to what Florence was saying. "Okay, I like the way you worded that. Me and you, I like the sound of that." Florence now didn't know if she regretted wording it like that or not. Max turned to Ginny again with a smile. "Your sister is so nice."
