Ch. 6 "Concern"

Satori POV

It has been a few days since I've met Tony and i must say he understands me.

Knowing exactly what I'm talking about when I'm talking about my hobbies. he even helps me with some of it.

Unlike my dad...

Speaking of mommy said he's picking me up after school.

So here I sit. on the curb waiting.

My elbows on my thighs as I wait and wait.

I looked at my watch. it's turning into one hour.

I sighed standing up. I walked a few blocks getting weird looks. sure I would who would stare seeing a small child walking alone in the middle of the city.

I find a payphone right outside of the park that isn't far from the school.

I put the quarters in.

If I had a nickel for every time this happened. I thought

I dialed mommy's number.

It rang a few time at first I thought she wasn't going to answer.

"Hello?' I hear Tony's voice

"Tony?" I asked

"Ah Tori my favorite little genius." Tony said

"Umm yeah... is my mom there?' I asked

"She stepped out left her phone on my desk. what do you need." He said sounding chipper to talk to me.

"Well when she comes back can you tell her he never showed up...." I said looking around at all the looks I was getting.

"Wait what? Who never showed up?" Tony said sounding a bit concerned

"Well it's going on...." I looked at my watch

"A hour and twenty minutes so I did give him enough time maybe he got caught up at work again...." I said trying to come up with a logical explanation

"Who got caught up at work?" Tony said

"Umm... My dad he didn't show so. I found a payphone..." I said

"A pay phone! where are you Tori?" He said sounding in a panic

Gee didn't think Tony cared I thought

"Well I'm outside of a park not far from school." I said

"What park?" He said

"River side Park." I said

"Alright I'll be there in a bit." He said

"Wait what?" I asked

"Your mom is busy I'll be there soon." He said

Before I could get another word in he hung up.

I looked at the phone.

Okay then I thought as I hung it up.

Well that was the weirdest thing ever. I thought

I walked out of the booth with my backpack sitting on the bench. My elbows on my knees and my chin in my palms.

swinging my legs back and forth. I didn't wait long because not long did Tony roll up in a really nice looking car.

He gets out of the car.

"Hey Tori sorry took so long." He said walking towards me.

I smiled trying to cover up my disappointment in my dad. I don't know why I get so excited to see him.

"You didn't take long." I said

He smiled.

"You ready to go to the tower?" He said taking my book bag

I shrugged

"Sure." I said smiling

He nodded

Opening the door for me to get in. I did.

He got in the drivers side.

"Seatbelt." He said

I nodded buckling in.

With that he drove off to the tower
