"When I'm gone see you again?" Brent asked, staring at Giveon.
"I don't know, I've been busy." Giveon shrugged, staring back at Brent.
"You only live 10 minutes away from me, it doesn't take that long to get here." Brent squinted his eyes.
"That doesn't mean anything, I'm still busy."
"Are you avoiding me?" Brent asked.
"No." Giveon denied, avoiding eye contact.
That was a lie.
Giveon didn't want to ignore him, but he couldn't bring himself to trust him. Justine messed him up big time. It had been a year since they broke up, but Giveon couldn't let it go.
They had been together for 5 years, and she hadn't loved him at all. Giveon couldn't help but think Brent would do the same.
It had been two weeks since the last time Brent and Giveon saw each other. Only living 10 minutes away from each other, Brent thought that it was suspicious.
"Look me in the eye and tell me you're not avoiding me." Brent demanded.
"I can't." Giveon sighed, hanging up.
Giveon felt horrible. He wanted to trust Brent so bad, he just couldn't.
