Chapter 1

Camilas pov

I go up to my room and slam my bedroom door locking it, with a groan I go over to my full length mirror and look at myself. A cut on my left cheek, my left eye black, my nose running blood, my lip cut on the right side. I lift up my shirt to reveal several bruises covering my stomach, all because I cough in the middle of his show, maybe if mom stopped smoking I wouldn't have.

With a sigh I use my shirt to wipe my bloody nose, I lay on my bed and feel hot tears run down the sides of my face, I fucking hate it here!

I stay in my room even as my stomach growled, I couldn't go back down there god only knows what he'll do if he saw me again my body couldn't handle another beating.

I feel my body shake as I sobbed, I couldn't handle another beating.

I hear my mother and father screaming at each other, I hear glass being broken and things thrown around, I put a pillow over my head this isn't an unusual thing, it happens every single day and I've had enough! It's been 19 years of my dealing with this bullshit, I don't know have I survived.

I get up and grab a bag, I start to fill it, clothes, books, my phone charger, all of the money I had. I sit and wait until I hear silence, it was 2:30am, I sneak downstairs and check they are asleep, I go into the cupboards and put as much food and bottled water in my bag as I could, i then sneak out of the house and walk as far away from that shit hole as I could.

I felt free, I felt safer out here in the middle of the night than I did in my own home, well it didn't feel like home, I didn't know where I was going, I didn't know how far I had walked but I knew, I would be in the right place.
