"Yes Mom, he uses protection."
"Just making sure." Her mother looked at her concerned. "I just don't want you getting pregnant..." She said. She nodded in agreement, the thought of her getting pregnant was unnerving and that it would scare her to have a baby. Forrest was aware of this and shared her views and got awkward with the thought of children. Delphi was also like this and was afraid of the idea of having a baby at the age of 16 or 17.
Forrest's parents were the same way, they were extremely protective of him, always making sure he is being safe and making sure he doesn't do anything like getting Delph pregnant. While he is a good student, Forrest would mostly flirt with Delphi in his spare time. He would always be happy to be with Delphi and to talk about their feelings. Her dad was happy that his daughter was considerate of herself and her body.
Both Forrest and Delphi didn't believe that they would have children unless they were married. But as time went on, they were more concerned about scenarios like, what if the condom breaks or something.
