My Calm

Part 39- Promise

Lee's POV:
"Do you want to talk about it?" I whisper to Damion as he lays on top of me with his face in my neck and arms around my waist.

"No. I just want you." He mumbles as his breathe fans my neck.

"You have me baby."

"Can you tell me you love me again?" He asks quietly.

"Always. I love you Damion."

He sighs, "I love you more."

I laughs a little, "I don't think that's possible."

"You'd be surprised." He says before laying a kiss on my neck.

He takes my arm and puts it in his hair as a signal for me to play with it. I know it helps him fall asleep and keeps him calm, so I happily oblige. Soon I feel eyes droop and and I fall asleep.

Suddenly, I feel Damion rip himself from my arms and I jolt awake. Before my mind catches up with my body I scrabble upright in time to see him about to go out my side doors.

"Damion! What's going on?" I say with a shaky voice.

He turns around quickly and I swear his eyes are glowing blue. I blink and his eyes are the same ocean blue they've always been. I satnd up and walk over to him.

"Go in the bathroom and lock the door." He demands before turning to leave.

"What! Why? What's happening? You're scaring me."

"Lee, just do it. Remember I love you."

"You love me? Damion why are you acting like this?"

"Please just do as I say Lee. I will explain everything as soon as I can."

He kisses my forehead and rushes me into the bathroom. The door shuts and I see the door knob move up a little. I try to open the door but I think he put something under the knob to lock me in. I start banging on the door so he lets me out, but then I hear voices and growling. I freeze and try to listen.

I can't make out the words, but I know its Damion talking. There is more sounds, like someone is fighting. Then, there is a what sounds like a lion roaring. It rips through the air and I stumble back as the house shakes a little.

My hear drops when there is silence.

My mind wonders to all the 'what if' thoughts. What if Damion's hurt? What if those wolves he was talking about are out there? What if he's... gone?

I stand there too scared to move. I don't know how much time passes, but it feels like forever. My eyes start to water and a few stray tears stream down my face. Silence surrounds me and fear eats away at me.

The knob moves again and I take a fearful step back. I watch as it turns and take another step. My heart is beating so loud I can feel it in my ears.

Slowly, the door opens and I let out a breathe when I see Damion standing there covered in dirt in a pair of black basketball shorts. He went outside in boxers, but I don't question him. Instead, I throw myself into his arms and let the tears in my eye stream down my face. I thought I lost him.

I pull back and look at him, "What happened out there?" I ask.

"We need to talk." Is all he says. That sense of fear is back and this time I have a feeling the outcome won't be as good as this one was.

Later at Damion's House
We walk in the door to Damion's house and round the corner to see Luca, Amber, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz, Kasey, and all the guys in the living room staring at me. My guard immediately shoots up. I stop walking and look at Damion with a confused look. He simply cocks his head to signal to me to walk in.
