「 Rewritten 」

Looking at the blank walls that were once filled with all different and unforgettable memories with every nook and cranny of the house starting to seem unfamiliar as all those memories were stuff inside a box. You couldn't really believe you were leaving the place you grew up in, the place you called home.

"[Y/n]! Hurry up sweetheart, we're going to miss our flight with your aunt and cousin!" Hearing your mom's voice calling out from downstairs, snapping you out of your reminiscing, it was finally your cue to leave. Grabbing your duffel bag that was full of your personal items, you gave one last look at your room before closing the door and head downstairs.

"There you are!" Your mom said once she finally spots your figure by the stairs, she quickly gave the person who you assume was one of the people helping to transport your stuff some instruction before walking towards you. "Come on no time to waste sweetie! Time is ticking and our flight might fly without us"

Giving a nod as you absent mildly follow behind her to move out of the house, you still couldn't process that both of you would be moving to China! Freaking China! Of course, moving to another country seems cool when you think about it but it just feels upsetting – as much as you hate to admit it. After hearing your mom getting a promotion on her job which requires moving to China, you couldn't blame her when you saw how happy and proud, she had looked when she told you about it.

Walking out of the house feels foreign, glancing back at it one more time since you knew it'd be the last time for who knows how long. "Hard moving out, right? You want me to adopt you so you can stay here?"

Startled by the sudden hand place on your shoulder, you look up to see none other than your uncle grinning down at you. Once you had the time to process his words, you couldn't help the smile making its way to your face. Uncle Jeremy really never fails to make you smile.

"Yeah sure, but we all know you can't even take care of a plant for 3 days, what's more, if it's a teenager like me?"

You couldn't help but grin widely as your uncle gave you an offended look but raise his arms in surrender chuckling "You got me there, you're too much of a troublemaker for me – still my favorite niece though" He gave a cheeky smile bringing his hands up to ruffle your hair.

"Hey!" Laughing as you shove his arm away "I'm your only niece!"

"That's why you're my favorite!" Jeremy smiles happily down at you yet the look in his eyes says otherwise, if it were anyone else no one would notice it. But you knew your uncle for the whole 15 years of your life, without warning Jeremy was taken aback when he feels you engulf him in an embrace.

"I'm going to miss you, Uncle Jeremy"

Feeling his comforting arms wrap around you and the familiar feeling on top of your head where he placed a kiss, Uncle Jeremy held you tightly murmuring back "I'm going to miss you too, my little troublemaker"

After reluctantly separating, both of you went towards the small crowd of people, some of your neighbors and relatives bidding farewell to your mom. Upon arriving you gave each one of them a tight hug and saying farewell to one another.

"I'm surprised you didn't kidnap her from me, Jeremy"

"Yeah surprisingly, but we both know I'd get beaten the hell out of me by you if I did"

"You bet your ass, you will. Stop trying to steal my daughter and go have one yourself"

You couldn't help but smile after overhearing the two, after finally finishing saying your goodbyes to everyone you notice how the sky was starting to darken by the gloomy clouds, and before anyone even knew it, it started pouring down.

Mom was the first to rush inside the taxi waving at everyone, you were quick to follow only to halt when you heard a familiar voice calling out to you. Whipping your head in the direction as fast as you could, his familiar figure wasn't so hard to spot as he came sprinting towards your direction.

"Lucas...?" You couldn't help let out in disbelief but also in shock, taken aback that he really came. Lucas was your best friend ever since diapers, after telling him about you moving away the both of you had a fight.

"Dumbass, you think you can go without getting to see me?" He grins slightly panting from running while also being drench by the rain.

"Huh?! You're the dumbass here, dumbass, I thought you said would rather clean your room than say goodbye" You purse your lips furrowing your brows, Lucas lets out a sigh rolling his eyes at you.

"Yeah...I'm not here to say goodbye"

"Wha!?" You couldn't help but let out in confusion but before you can say anything back, you were startled when Lucas shove something in your hands. Upon realizing what was the item in your hold, you couldn't help but be more taken by surprise. Lucas' roller skates, the very thing that no being can touch except for the person himself.

"Lucas, you're kidding – " You tried to return it back to his hands trying to refuse only for him to push it back to you with a shake of his head murmuring under his breath.

"It's just temporary"

Looking at him in confusion, Lucas lets out a sigh of exasperation and crosses his arms "I'm letting you borrow it alright? So, you better return it in top condition when you come back"

As the realization of what he means dawn upon you, a small laugh came out of your mouth before smiling at him. "Alright, I get it sheesh you're too cheesy"

The two of you gave each other a smile before your mom calls out to you inside the taxi "[Y/n] let's go!"

Getting inside the taxi you couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh, it was finally time. The sound of a knock on the window made you look back to see none other than your uncle and Lucas waving with a small smile on their face.

"Don't cause too much trouble there!"

"Make sure to return my skates dumbass!"

You couldn't help but smile back at the two, just as the taxi started to slowly move forward Jeremy and Lucas followed waving their hands until they couldn't catch up to the speed anymore. You watch the familiar places you like to visit and couldn't help but smile sadly as you pass by them.

Feeling a comforting hand on your shoulder you turn to face your mom who gave you a tight lip smile "You going to be okay, sweetheart?"

For a moment you stayed silent before your gaze fell on the roller skates you were holding in your hands and felt a feeling of comfort, you slowly gave a nod of your head before facing your mom with a small smile.

"Yeah...I'll be okay, mom"

The ride was spent in comfortable silence and before you even knew it the two of you arrive at the airport. Getting out of the taxi and taking all of your bags, the two of you quickly head inside mixing with the other people.

"Helen!! Over here!"

At the sound of your aunt's familiar voice, both you and your mom turn your head in the direction to spot none other than your aunt and cousin. Sherry Parker and Dre Parker, upon seeing them you and your mom made your way through the crowd of people and approach the two.

"So...this is finally it huh" Dre mumbles as the both of you walk behind both your moms who were too busy chatting with each other as all of you made your way to board the plane. Giving a side glance at your cousin you let out a hum of agreement.

"Yeah...it's now or never"
