Wham!- The Edge of Heaven.

"Love bug, you goin' on a date?"

"No. Absolutely not."

"Mm, are you sure? Where else would you be going lookin' so fuckin' fine?"

I rolled my eyes immediately, pulling down my yellow romper around my thighs, "Just going out Leon, nothing crazy."

Jett let out a squeal, "Nothing crazy my ass. Why you lyin' to us little love? We want the hot juicy details." I looked at the two of them with the most absurd look I could muster, "I'm going out with Avery."

Leon shook his head, raising his eyebrows as he took a step deeper into my room, "Mabel Lennox, I know you didn't lie just then." He gasped, causing for my throat to tighten at the thought that I had just dug myself six feet under. "What do you mean? Are you going out with her?" I joked, knowing that he would turn my question down with a laugh.

Except he didn't, and he seemed to only become more intrigued as he pushed further, "I am. I actually am. Which makes things very strange right now doesn't it?" Without meeting his gaze, I collected my bag of things from my bed, hauling it over my arm and beginning to slip around him.

"I'm just going out with someone new from work, I do have other friends you know," I spoke, even though it was a complete lie, "don't be such a mom."

"Such a- such a mom? How fuckin' dare you." He glared, walking at the same pace as my own as we descended the stairs. He remained by my side as I threw the bag onto the floor, flinging myself onto the couch near the door as I waited for Harry's presence.

The rest of last night had been just as unbearable as when it had started. Harry had made his way back to the table not long after I had, the tension was high and just like I thought it would... the thought of us had been on my mind for the rest of the evening. We interacted only when need be and even as Jax and his family left, my mother pleaded for my help as everybody else fled to bed. As sad as it was, Harry had slipped away with a small whisper of 'can't wait to see you tomorrow.' And that had been enough for me to speed up my tasks and go straight to bed.

I'd taken my time this morning, peacefully jumping into the shower and making myself somewhat presentable for whatever Harry and I were about to embark on. Going with a patterned yellow romper, I'd decided to leave my hair wavy and add a couple of braids on each side, with my trusty converse on I was ready and raring to go. It was a strange feeling, being so excited for something that would usually make me uncomfortably nervous.

Jett sunk into the couch opposite me, crossing her legs and moving her black rim glasses down further, "Fess up Mabel, who is it? I want to know who scored the little sister?" It were as if the universe had heard her small demand, because while her words fled, Harry made his way down the stairs. His blue floral shirt completely open — not a single button in tact— which meant that his golden skinned chest was in full view, his white shorts gracing his legs in the most sweetest way.

"Harry," Jett shouted, catching his attention as he swung his head over to us, curving around the bottom of the stairs and coming to stand with an arm against the banister, "Mabel has a date and she hasn't told anyone."

My lips parted as a tiny defeated sigh left them, the biggest smug expression arising on Harry's cheeks. "Not a date," I spat, gesturing my hands out as if to slow down the quick words thrown, "not a date, I never said it was a date. It were you and Leon who just assumed." Jett scoffed, unaware of the awkwardness she had created, though Harry stood proudly with a bag in his grasp.
