Random Roleplay Scenes

Scene 1: Part 4

A/n another heads up that this scene will include mentions of dead people, blood and shadow people/ghosts.

The three walk into the infirmary and Lucy puts Zeref down, walking back over to Wendy and Natsu. They talk for a while to pass the time, and after some time, Zeref wakes up again. "Ugh, everything hurts." He says, barely audible. Lucy nods "That's not surprising, he really did a number on you." Wendy walks over to him and heals him enough for him to be able to move again. He sits up "Thanks Wendy." She nods and sits back down. He brushes his hand over a single injury that didn't heal at all, the word. Lucy sighs "I wonder why that man did this.." Zeref averts his eyes. "I'm not entirely sure, except all of those people hate me, I can tell you that.." He looks back at them "If you guys hadn't have come looking for me, I would probably be dead..." Natsu runs a hand through his hair. "Are you okay?" Lucy asks him. He nods "Just a bit frustrated, I wish I knew why they wanted him dead." Zeref sighs "I probably killed someone they cared about when I was cursed, so they want to get back at me." Natsu looks back at him "But that doesn't mean you deserve to be killed, that's what pisses me off, you didn't want to kill them." The other two leave to let them talk.
There's a short pause before Zeref asks "Natsu, what did he cut into my face?"
"Something that should be on my face, not yours." Natsu uses flames to spell out 'Monster' and shows it to him. He looks at it and smiles, though the smile isn't a happy one. "That's much better suited to me than you." Natsu shakes his head "Those people could have had families, and I killed them." Zeref sighs "More people got away then died, and either way, it's not quite the same." He telepathically shows Natsu memories.

Flashback

Zeref stands, looking over a village, scattered on the ground everywhere are things, no, bodies. He stares, unmoving. "I-It happened again..." He knows what he's done, and falls to his knees, crying "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Over and over.

The memory changes, a different place, more bodies, far more then the last time. Zeref walks through the city, empty of any living person, not bothering to step over the dead. He arrives at the heart of the city and looks around at the destruction, his curse having full control of his mind and actions. He chuckles, then laughs, the laugh takes on a crazed tone, that of a murderer.

As the memories end, Zeref speaks. "Even after all this time, they haunt me, they won't forgive me for what I've done." He shows Natsu one last memory.

Flashback, Zeref's dream

Zeref stands in the middle of a field that seems to go on forever. All around him are people, shadows of them at least. He does not know them, but he knows what he did to them. They all whisper at once, a deafening hum of hatred. He feels their anger and sadness, all of their emotions as they reach for him. He covers his ears as they get even louder, yelling at him. He yells back at them, begging them to go away, desperate to silence the screams. One steps out from the rest, prying his hands from his ears. It says in a scratchy, rasping voice "This is your fault, you did this to us, every single one of us. We won't forget what you did, we never will." It steps back, releasing his hands and leaving them dripping with the blood of millions of people. He stares, never taking his eyes from his hands, his bloodstained hands. The shadows get louder, repeatedly saying "Your fault, your fault, your fault." He tries to protest, to block out the noise, but they only continue, getting ever angrier. They reach farther, grabbing at his arms, the collar of his robes, anything in their reach. The spirits become violent, scratching at his face and arms, continuing to grow louder until he can't even hear the sound of his own screams.

Flashback end

Zeref looks down at his hands. "I've done so much wrong and I can't escape it. You do good things, you save lives, all I can seem to do is end them, if anyone is the monster here it's me..." Natsu looks at him from where he stands. "Zeref..." He looks away, his hands trembling. "You can't deny it Natsu, you're not the monster. You're a good person, anyone here would agree, but no matter how much I try to change, I can't get away from the things I've done." Tears form in his eyes, and Natsu walks over and hugs him. Zeref hugs him back, and they stay silent for while before Natsu speaks. "Let's get you patched up before we go join the others." He nods.
Natsu rubs his forearm, hiding the fact that he was hit by the whip. Zeref looks back at him. "Are... you sure he didn't get you? I don't like the thought of him hurting you too." He asks. Natsu nods "Yeah, I'm fine." "Okay..." Zeref says. He frowns slightly when Natsu rubs his forearm again, but keeps his thoughts to himself. He starts to ask if they should head out when Natsu grabs the fabric of his sleeve "I can't do this anymore." He quickly pulls off the sleeve, revealing the mark. Zeref nods "So he did hit you.." Before he can say anything else, blood starts dripping down Natsu's arm. "I don't feel good." He says, stumbling. Zeref goes over, holding him steady as he examines the injury. "I feel like I'm going to pass out." Natsu says. "It shouldn't be this serious, what's happening?" Zeref thinks to himself. "Did he do something to it?" Natsu looks at him. "What?" Zeref looks back up from the injury. "The hooded man, did he do anything to he whip before he hit you with it?" He shakes his head "I thought it was just the regular whip that Lucy owns." Zeref sighs "I don't know why else that would happen, unless he did do something and I start bleeding too."
"Lucy is the only one who would know about her whip."
"I know, but I don't want to leave you here by yourself. If it affected you like this, it'll likely do the same to me too."
Natsu frowns "Tch, didn't he have his own before he took Lucy's?" Zeref shakes his head "It was hers both times, I remember seeing it before I left this morning." Natsu puts a hand to his head. "I feel extremely dizzy." "This isn't good, we need Wendy, she could heal him." He thinks to himself. "Zeref..." Natsu says as he passes out. "Natsu?"

With Lucy and the others

Happy looks up at Lucy. "Should we go check on Natsu and Zeref? They've been gone for a while." She looks back at the blue cat "We can give them another minute, they're probably still dealing with their injuries." He nods "Okay."
Alex suddenly stands up and flies toward the infirmary. "Alex? Where are you going? Wait up!" Happy quickly follows after him.

In the infirmary

Zeref kneels next to Natsu "Come on, wake up." He stands and starts towards the door when a wave of dizziness hits him. "Oh no.." He collapses just as Alex bursts into the room.
