Noah's POV
Wow in one week we are all returning to school. This summer has been the best. Elle and I have not had one issue, no arguing no questioning each other no hiding feelings, sort of. We spent so much time playing volleyball, going for hikes, swimming making love on the beach under the stars, watching the fireworks, and enjoying bonfires. We wanted to pack as much fun in so that we had those memories to hold on to next year. We even discussed the times we would visit one another and possibly do a quiet Christmas together in Boston, but that is going to be hard to convince the parental units. But we are going to try.
The one thing weighing on me is, I so want Elle to apply for the internship but she will be gone for 6 months and the only way we will be able to communicate is via texting or facetime, I just keep reminding myself we are strong we can do this right? But for now, we have this year we will make the best of it. I should tell her my fears but I don't want her to think the worst of my thoughts, that I a trying to run, cause I am not whatsoever.
Lee finally saw the ring and questioned us on it. We explained it is just a promise. Maybe one day, actually definitely one day it will be an engagement ring. I thought it was a wonderful way to express our commitment to each other. As for Rachel and Lee, they hung out together all the time, but have not made anything official. They want to see how next year goes, which makes sense.
Elle's was sort of sad, her bestie at school Stacey, couldn't come at the end of the summer, she had family obligations that she could not leave until school. The funny thing is I have seen Elle a few times throughout the summer lost in her thoughts, I'd ask her what was going on, all she would just say was "Ghost". I think sometimes being here is hard for her, I mean loves coming here and has always loved it, but her mom is imprinted all over the place. I took it upon myself to usually keep her mind busy. Lee even contributed to it, by one day having a gaming competition with her. Just watching those two and the friendship they have is remarkable. Know wonder why everyone called them twins, it went further than just being born the same day same time thing, there was a connection between these two that I don't think anyone could ever destroy.
We had to clean the place up before packing up and leaving. The three of us decided to have one last BBQ together, Lee even invited Rachel to join. We spent a few days cleaning and putting things away for the season, Elle took some time to get a jump on some of her school work, I mean she doesn't start for a few more days just like us, this year she is on the same schedule as me which is making things just a little easier for us. She just wanted to familiarize herself with the subjects and get it started in her head. Me, I just procrastinated, I will leave it for when I arrive, which is in two days.
After Rachel arrived we all sat on the deck. Lee and Rachel seemed rather close, he would pull the chair out for her and make sure she was comfortable and had a drink. He was sure doting on her, it was good to see him happy for a change. I love to sit here and observe everything, remembering what we like as kids and now seeing us grown-up.
We decided to go for a swim, which turned into an all-out battle of the girls against the boys. It all started fairly innocent, with Lee pretending to trip and knocking Rachel in the water, and then Elle in turn saved Rachel and pushed Lee in and then I had to join in, I just walked up casually, picked Elle up and throw her in. Well, that went great, next thing I knew everyone was out to get me for I was the only one on land and dry at this point. I lost out when Elle played the helpless girl, that she had hurt herself when I started to believe her finally, it then turned tables on me and down I went into the water. We played volleyball in the pool, and some basketball and of course a game of chicken. I could not believe the fun we were having and this is all about to end, well at least for this summer, we plan to return here every summer break.
