"Hey, Levi! Come look what I found!" Erwin shouted from the ground where he was holding something in his hands.

"It better not be a spider, you know I hate them, Erwin," Levi called back, walking over cautiously just in case.

"I promise it's not a spider, Lee."

Levi huffed and walked over, crouching down next to Erwin to see what he was hiding in his hand.

"Look!" Erwin smiled and slowly opened his hand, showing off the small creature he was holding. "Isn't it cute?"

Levi stared at it, examining it and debating on whether to agree with Erwin or not.

"Yeah, I think so," He concluded. Erwin was holding a small ladybird in his hands, the two boys watching it crawling around on its six legs in curiosity.

"Hey, Erwin?" Levi mumbled. The blonde boy hummed in response to show he was listening as he continued staring at the little red bug.

"Do you think we'll still be friends when we grow up?"

Erwin turned to face Levi now, his face reading one of confusion.

"Don't be silly, Lee. We'll always be best friends." He explained.

"Okay. Good." Levi added. "I don't want another best friend, because you're my favourite." He spoke quietly with the smallest hint of red on his cheeks in embarrassment. He wasn't always the best at saying what he was feeling.

"You're my favourite too." Erwin smiled, letting the small bug down and onto the ground as he pulled Levi into a hug. The smaller boy squeaked in surprise before reluctantly wrapping his arms around Erwin to hug him back.

"But muuuum. I don't wanna go." Levi whined as he was getting dressed up in his uniform. His first day of high school was today and he was absolutely not having it. He was forced to wear a stupid blazer, with a stupid shirt and trousers, and stupid shoes and a stupid tie.

"Tough. You'll have to put up with it, just like everyone else has to." His mother scolded as she finished doing up his tie and smoothing it out. "Anyway, you'll be able to see Erwin again, you should be feeling happy."

Levi huffed, not having a good comeback to that because, to be honest, he was excited to see the blonde. When Erwin's last day at primary school came, Levi refused to accept the fact the blonde wouldn't be attending his school anymore and would be moving to a different one. He complained to his mother, saying 'why can't Erwin stay at my school, he doesn't need to leave'. It took a lot of convincing before Levi started to eventually accept Erwin would be leaving for another school. 'It's only a year', she would tell him.

"You look so smart, Levi" His mother smiled, kissing him on the cheek.

"Mum." The boy whined, wiping his face with his sleeve.

"He looks like some preppy arseho-"

"Kenny!" His mother scolded, glaring her brother down before he could finish the word. He just huffed and walked off with a can of beer he grabbed from the fridge.

"You look great, don't listen to uncle Kenny." She sighed.

"I know mum, I never listen to him anyway." Levi shrugged with a small smile. His mother chuckled and stood up, looking at her son standing in front of her in his new high school uniform.
