Part 2: chapter 42

Gyeongju, South Korea

Early spring, 2018

There was something fascinating about the place which was stretched out on a huge territory of nature. It looked like a gift from God. The warm ground, which was covered with a bunch of pretty purple flowers, was making the environment similar to the magical place you would read about in fairytales. Everything was covered in purple and green. Small bushes and long trees complimented the splendid nature which looked absolutely arrogant because of its rare magnificence.

Two young boys were sitting under one beautiful evergreen. The blonde, curly one was standing on his knees before a white telescope, watching the night star-sprangĺed sky through the small eyepiece while the blue-haired one was busy gathering branches, small logs and other stuff to start the fire, so they could warm up since the weather was a bit cold and chilly, "Oh, my God! Hyung! Hyung!", the blonde boy suddenly yelled like an excited child, his face covered with amazement as he stubbornly kept gazing at the sky, "The star is falling, hyung!"

"That's not a star, Beom", Yeonjun said with a sigh as he lit the top of his pyramid on fire which soon started burning downwards, "That's just meteoroids. They fall into the earth's atmosphere and burn up. That's what causes the streaks of light on the night sky"

"But it's beautiful, hyung", Beomgyu said in a joyful voice, making a smile flash across Yeonjun's lips, "It's very beautiful"

Yeonjun grabbed his backpack which was planted in the pile of flowers on the ground and put it in his lap, opening the zip. He took out small containers which were filled with different meals, and two plastic plates and forks, placing them on the picnic blanket beside the warm fire, "Come here now. We've been hungry since the morning"

After a couple of minutes, Beomgyu finally managed to leave the telescope and sit cross-legged on the other side of the picnic blanket, in front of Yeonjun. Beomgyu held one of the containers and placed one sausage roll on his plate with his chopsticks. He took a bite and moaned in pleasure as he felt the taste. Yeonjun also munched on his food while filling Beomgyu's glass with lemonade juice. He couldn't help but watch the boy secretly as the younger fed himself, feeling happy that he was there with him.

"How're your studies going in France?", Yeonjun asked as he grabbed his glass, slowly drinking the juice.

"Fine", Beomgyu answered with puffed cheeks, remaining silent before swallowing the bite, "I really like the education system there. They have such strong lecturers "

"Have you made friends?"

"A few", Beomgyu replied before taking a few sips of his lemonade juice, "But I prefer studying more than having fun with them "

Yeonjun knew that. Beomgyu wasn't the type to love parties and things like that. He liked loneliness more. Yeonjun was the complete opposite of that, but he never used to assure his friend that having fun was important as well since he was still too young. Yeonjun just loved the boy the way he was and he didn't want to change him in any way. If Beomgyu preferred studying over fun things, then it was obviously something he needed to follow.

"Do you have any plans?", Yeonjun asked with a small smile and brought his hands closer to the fire to warm them up, "Like plans for the future?"

Beomgyu nodded his head as he sat beside his hyung at the fire, bending his knees and locking his ankles, "Yes. The first thing I want to do after I finish studying is to return here and find work in my field", the boy said and Yeonjun listened to him very attentively, as if he was listening to the most interesting thing in the world. And actually, he was. He knew how Beomgyu loved making plans and talking to him about them, so Yeonjun loved nothing more than seeing his happy and enthusiastic face when he'd start speaking about his passion. His eyes always used to shine from excitement at times like that and a smile and happy expression was all Yeonjun needed to feel happy himself too and smile like a kid who was listening to his favourite fairytale.
