"Xander!!" I yelled from the bottom of the stairs. He ran out of the bedroom with a worried look on his face. "What's wrong?" he asked. I smiled sweetly and held out my arms for him. He let out a breath of relief and walked down the stairs. My bump is getting big and it is kinda hard to walk, especially on the stairs. So Xander said he would carry me. He picked me up and carried me to the bedroom.
"I have to get ready," I said. He nodded and sat me in the closet. We were going today to find out the gender of the baby. I undressed and then put on my new outfit.

I walked out of the closet and sat on the bed. After struggling to put my shoes one I walked out of the room and almost ran into Xander and Josh in the hall. "Hi mommy," Josh said, hugging my legs and patting my belly. He skipped downstairs and I turned to Xander. He picked me up and pecked my lips before carrying me downstairs.
Once we arrived at the doctor's office I walked up to the front desk and checked myself in. Josh was sitting in Xander's lap and we were waiting patiently. "Ms. Jezzabelle" I looked up and saw a nurse standing there waiting on me. Xander stood up and placed Josh on his hip and then grabbed my hand and we followed the nurse to the back.
I laid on the patient bed and Xander sat in the chair beside me. The nurse checked my blood pressure, my pulse, and my sugar. "Doctor Jones will be in, in a little while" she said leaving the room.
"Mommy" I looked down at Josh and he had his hand raised. I smiled softly and ran my fingers through his hair, "You can't get up here buddy" I said. His eyes filled with tears and he started crying. I looked at Xander and he looked back at me. Two knocks sounded at the door and the doctor walked in. "How are y'all today?" he asked, sitting in his chair. I smiled, "Good" I said. He nodded and began typing on his computer. Xander picked up Josh and whispered something in his ear. Josh stopped crying and sat on the floor beside the chair. Xander pulled out a toy from my purse and handed it to him.
"Can you raise your shirt for me?" Doctor Jones asked. I raised my shirt and tucked it under my bra. I lowered the top of my leggings so he was able to see my whole stomach. I felt Xander grab my hand and squeeze it. I shivered when Doctor Jones put the gel on my stomach. He pointed to a screen and I smiled when I saw our little bean. "Oh wow" Doctor Jones said, "I detect a heartbeat would you like to hear" he asked. I nodded even though we heard it already the last time we were here. My eyes watered when I heard the small thump sound fill the room. I looked at Xander and he had his eyes closed with a small smile on his face.
The doctor cleaned me up and I sat up on the table, "I will be back" he said walking out of the room. I stood and went to take a seat in the chair beside Xander but he pulled me in his lap. "Hi" I giggled. He kissed my neck and laid his hand on my stomach. The doctor walked in and handed us the ultrasound picture, "It's a girl," he said. I looked at Xander and hugged his neck. The doctor walked out of the room and we walked to the car. Xander drove home and we walked inside. Josh ran to his toy room and played in there while Xander carried me upstairs to our bedroom. "Can you grab me a pair of shorts?" I asked. He nodded and sat me on the bed and then walked to the closet. I stripped my clothes and sat on the bed in my underwear and bra waiting for him to come back out.
He came back out in nothing but shorts. He handed me my shorts and I put them on, leaving my shirt off. I laid on the bed and he hovered over me, "I love you" I said, he smiled and kissed my cheek."I love you too" he said pecking my lips, "and I love you baby girl" he whispered, kissing my bare stomach. He laid beside me and placed his hand on my stomach lulling me to sleep.

"What is a sister?" I woke up to Josh's soft voice. I kept my eyes closed pretending to still be asleep. "Well, a sister is a girl that mommy and daddy have and you will help take care of her." Xander said. I felt Josh's tiny hand lay on top of my stomach, "in here?" he asked. "Yep," Xander said. "I can't wait for mommy to have a baby," he said. Xander chuckled and laid his hand on my stomach, "me neither buddy" he said. I couldn't help but smile, "Mommy!!" Josh shouted. I sat up and he hugged me. "Hi baby" I said, kissing his head. He sat beside me and I looked at Xander, and he was just staring at me with a smile on his face.
"Stop looking at me like that, I probably look like a rat, considering I just woke up" I grumbled. He shook his head and chuckled, "You look beautiful," he said. I shook my head but a smile graced my lips. I stood from the bed and wobbled to the bathroom with Xander following close behind. I sat on the toilet and he stood by the seat, "mom wants to see you" he said. I nodded and finished my business. "When?" I asked washing my hands.
"Tonight" he said. I looked at him and my jaw dropped. "Tonight?" I asked, he nodded and checked his watch, "you have an hour" he mumbled. I glared at him and purposely bumped into him on the way out the door. "Do you know how long it takes a pregnant woman to get ready?" I grumbled walking to the closet. He shook his head and I chuckled humorlessly. "Of course you don't" I said, raising my voice a bit and slamming the door, locking it behind me. I heard him groan and walk away.
Forty five minutes later and I was fully dressed. I feel bad for getting mad at him, he did not know. I looked at my outfit in the mirror and sighed.

I walked out of the room and cursed when I realized I had to walk downstairs by myself. I held onto the railing and slowly walked downstairs. I made it all the way and walked to the living room and kitchen. When I did not find Xander in either I walked to his office. I did not bother knocking and just barged in. He was dressed and ready to go, sitting at his desk doing paperwork. I walked over and stopped beside him. He looked at me and moved his chair back. He pulled me onto his lap and I hugged his neck, "sorry" I mumbled. He rubbed my back and his free hand rested on my stomach. "It's ok," he said, kissing my neck. "How did you make it downstairs?" he asked. I smiled sheepishly, "I walked down the stairs" I said. "You should have yelled at me," he scolded. I looked down and hummed to myself. He stood and placed me on my feet.
We walked to the living room and the maid was there with Josh. "Ready to go buddy?" I asked him. His head shot up and his face broke into a smile, he ran to me and hugged my legs.I smiled and went to pick him up but Xander got him before I could. I chuckled and we walked to Xander's car.
The rest of the night was spent talking with Xander's parents and catching up.
