"So, where are Mom and Benjamin?" Damian questions, shuffling UNO cards, as we are around the table in my kitchen. My legs are folded beneath me.

The couple before me are sporting matching, red, Adidas sweatsuits.

I scoff, "At his house. She's literally always there."

"You know," He starts, "If I would've been in your shoes at your age, meaning with Mom always away, I would've taken advantage of that, and thrown so many parties. Was kind of a rebel back in the day." Damian jokingly brags.

Kat chuckles gently, "If by rebel, you mean class clown." She teases.

"Yeah!" He protests.

"If memory serves," I sarcastically start, "Mom let you do anything anyway, because you're her golden child." I roll my eyes.

"That's true!" My sister-in-law agrees, while my brother shrugs confidently.

"Plus," I continue, "Theater kids aren't really known for getting blacked out drunk during a party. Ours usually end with musical medleys."

Damian playfully shakes his head in shame, "I so would've bullied you."

I scoff a laugh, "I would bully you. What's that about detention, again?"

"Go visit Bianca!" Kat defends me, laughing lightly.

"You get detention for lame stuff." He protests, waving it off, "It's named after a rebellious, theater kid. Not a real rebel."

"Bloodbath." She jokes, and we laugh.

"I'll be right back." I inform, standing up, "Do not even think about looking at my cards!" I warn.

"Oh, I will." Damian jokes.

Kat chuckles, snatching the shuffled cards, "I'm dealing."

While walking out of the kitchen, my phone chimes, and I take it out of my pocket to find..

From: Big Red: "hey it's ricky, i found my jacket in the lost and found yesterday. just letting u know to spare ur non existent feelings."

With furrowed brows, the corners of my mouth quirk up in amusement, noticing how he quoted me at the end.
