"When we get in here you better not act a damn fool." Shéyaa scolded Kentrell as they walked to the front door of the house.
The couple had been going through a rough patch recently. They weren't really communicating their feelings, and that complicated things.
"Nigga you done told me that a thousand times! I get it damn." Kentrell yelled, frustrated. All Shéyaa did was scold him and he was getting exhausted of the constant scolding.
"I tell you multiple times every time we go somewhere, and somehow you end up acting a fucking fool!" Shéyaa continued scolding Kentrell. "Listen and I won't have to!"
"Mane, shut the fuck up." Kentrell walked into the house, wanting to get as far away from Shéyaa as he could.
"Mmcht" Shéyaa smacked his teeth.

It had been an hour since Kentrell and Shéyaa had arrived at the party, and Shéyaa hadn't talked to him since they walked through the door. Shéyaa had gotten glimpses of Kentrell in the corner of his eye, but he hadn't bothered to say anything to him.
The party was filled with hard liquor, Shéyaa taking advantage of it. Kentrell doing the same.
Shéyaa was sitting on the couch in the living room of the home, when he saw a familiar figure walking towards him.
